While Zhang doesn’t top the odds board, she isn’t far away.
However, fellow 20-year-old phenom Atthaya Thitikul has those honors. Thitikul has yet to scoop a major but already has two TOUR wins despite just graduating from rookie status.
Zhang turned heads by winning in her pro debut, a rare feat indeed. While she lacks the seasoning of most of the other top contenders, she does have some major experience, albeit of the mostly fruitless variety as she has just a single top-20 finish. Still, that may leave her more prepared than many observers might expect given her age.
