Women’s Final Four Odds: UConn An Odds-On Favorite

The No. 1 seed party in men’s college basketball isn’t the only thing going on this weekend in hoops, as Geno Auriemma guns for a record 12th NCAA championship on the women’s side. The betting market thinks he’ll add to his collection, installing the UConn Huskies as clear favorites to win the women’s Final Four in March Madness odds.
The women’s Final Four begins on Friday and ends on Sunday.

South Carolina Vs. Texas ODds
In futures markets around the time conference tournaments began, South Carolina was considered nearly on par with UConn. However, things shifted away from the defending champion Gamecocks in the ensuing weeks as they struggled more than expected.
First, South Carolina barely squeaked by Maryland with a four-point win. Then, Duke gave them a close battle, staying within a few possessions down the stretch before falling 54-50.
That was a far cry from their regional last year en route to the title. Then, only Indiana stayed within double digits.
Texas is riding its defense, having not allowed any team to score more than 61 points in women’s March Madness. The Longhorns hounded Hailey Van Lith into seven turnovers in a forgettable Elite Eight battle.
Texas enters as the underdog, but if South Carolina doesn’t find better form, they look ripe for an upset.
UConn Vs. UCLA Odds
In contrast to the Gamecocks, UConn has destroyed the opposition. The Huskies easily disposed of short-handed USC in the Elite Eight, 78-64. Nobody else played them within 20.
During the regular season, UConn’s 87-58 victory over South Carolina stands out as the top result any team has put up.
The Huskies boast arguably the best player in the country, PG Paige Bueckers. She played 40 minutes against USC and posted 31-3-6 on 9-of-18 shooting.
AP No. 1 UCLA will try to stop the Huskies’ rampage. Center Lauren Betts leads the way for them, averaging just shy of a double-double at 20 points and 9.6 rebounds. She dropped 30 in the prior two games before UCLA beat perennial power LSU in the Elite Eight.
