Indiana took the first meeting two weeks ago, 85-83, behind 30 points from Caitlin Clark. This time around, the Fever are -4.5 home favorites, while the Mystics can be found at +172 on the moneyline. After an 0-12 start to the season – nine of the losses by fewer than 10 points – the Mystics find themselves on a two-game winning streak. Guard Ariel Atkins led a pair of scoring onslaughts with 18 and 29 points in her last two games. Before this two-game stretch, Atkins was averaging 13.2 points. Last time out against the Fever, she scored 16 on just 7-of-21 shooting (2-of-8 from three).

While defense overall is an issue, Indiana ranks last in defensive rating (110.8), and keeping opposing guards in check is currently its biggest issue. Clark isn’t known for her defense. With Atkins scoring the ball as well as she is, look for Washington to try and get switches to have Clark be her primary defender as much as possible.

After a largely noncompetitive start to the year, the Fever have won four of their last six. In losses, they mustered just 70 points per game versus 84.5 in wins. Washington ranks seventh in defensive rating (101.9) and allows the third-worst three-point shooting (21.9%). While scoring in tight games has been a real problem for the Mystics, they’re a team that has played much better than their record.

In their only meeting so far this year, the Fever nudged out the Mystics 85-83. Clark tied her season high with 30 points on 7-of-13 shooting from three. Nalyssa Smith added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Just seven players hit the court for Indiana.
