States With Legalized Draft Betting
In total, there are 18 states that provide for NFL draft betting via legal online sportsbooks. Nevertheless, some display a dissimilar set of rules. Let’s run through each one to see how they’re individually working.
Arizona: While the Grand Canyon State allows NFL draft betting markets, there are no “in-play” options. Essentially, Arizona sports betting options must close before the beginning of the first round. The festivities are slated to kick off at 8 p.m. EST on Thursday. Full coverage for all seven rounds are available on ESPN, ABC, and NFL Network.
Arkansas: Online NFL draft betting is fully available.
Colorado: The Centennial State has the same regulations as Arkansas.
Illinois: Ditto for the Land of Lincoln. Find the best Illinois sports betting offers if you’re a resident.
Indiana: It’s no different for Hoosiers bettors. Sign up here.
Iowa: Just like Arizona, this state doesn’t provide any live betting opportunities. It also shuts down all markets 24 hours before the event.
Kansas: Jayhawkers have no restrictions on legal online sports betting for the draft.
Louisiana: Fans of Derek Carr’s new team and the like can place NFL draft bets at their discretion.
Maryland: Old Line State residents can place wagers on Ravens, Commanders, or any other draft betting market at their leisure.

Massachusetts: We found another outlier. Bets that correlate with the entirety of the draft must be processed ahead of the No. 1 overall pick the announcement. Massachusetts sports betting rules even notes that round-specific wagers need to be approved before it begins. For instance, the market for the total number of quarterbacks drafted in the first round won’t be available after the Panthers announce their initial selection.
Finally, pick-centric wagers must be finalized two picks head of before that name is shared. Massachusetts sports betting sign-up offers are available to use on these markets.
Michigan: The Wolverine State employs the same jurisdictions as Massachusetts.
Nevada: NFL draft betting is certainly permissible in Las Vegas and the rest of the state. But wagers on a specific player (i.e. the second overall pick) must cease 24 hours prior to the draft. Every other market becomes discontinued before the start of an applicable round.
New Hampshire: Although DraftKings Sportsbook is the lone legal online ‘book available in this state, nothing draft-related is off the table.
New Jersey: Unlike New York, Garden State residents have zero limitations on these markets.
Ohio: Bengals and Browns fans can place bets on their favorite teams prior to and over the course of the entire draft.
Oregon: Just like for New Hampshire residents, DraftKings is the only legal online sportsbook that Oregon possesses.
Tennessee: Residents of the Volunteer State are confined by the same results as Massachusetts and Michigan.
West Virginia: There are no clampdowns for the final state on the board.
