What time does the Super Bowl start and end?

Everyone from sports bettors, to fans of the teams playing in the game, to party planners want to know when the Super Bowl will kick off. Below we will answer the question as to when will will the Super Bowl start and end this year. The NFL has had the same official start time for many years and that is 6:30 p.m. ET.

Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas will start at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

That start time, of course, doesn’t always hit on the nose. There is an abundance of pre-game hoopla for the Big Game that includes the National Anthem, the coin toss and the introduction of the teams that are playing. Last year’s kickoff was the latest in recorded history as the ball was not sent into the air until 6:44 p.m. ET. This obviously impacted what time the Super Bowl finished as well. This past season’s Super Bowl ended at 10:14 p.m. ET.

With that understood, here is a look at what time you will want to be in front of the TV this year based on time zone.

  • Super Bowl start time Eastern: 6:30 p.m. ET
  • SB start time Central: 5:30 p.m. CT
  • Super Bowl start time Mountain: 4:30 p.m. MT
  • SB start time Pacific: 3:30 p.m. PT

Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas is in the Pacific time zone. The sun will be shining outside of the stadium at kickoff of Super Bowl LVIII. Allegiant Stadium’s roof does not open but it is translucent, which will allow some sunlight to enter.

As for what time does the Super Bowl end this year, you can expect the Big Game to end a little past 10 p.m. ET.

How long will the Super Bowl last for?

Normal NFL games usually last for just over 3 hours. The Super Bowl, known for its high-priced TV commercial spots and lengthy halftime show, typically lasts 3-and-a-half hours.
