What time does the Super Bowl start and end?

Super Bowl Sunday is the biggest unofficial holiday on the American calendar. Millions of people watch the NFL championship game around the world and it is unquestionably the most popular sporting event in the US each year. With so many people invested in the game, one of the main questions that pops up this time of year is what time does the Super Bowl start?

The NFL has had the same start time for many years and this year it remains the same.

The Super Bowl will start at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Here is a look at what time does the Super Bowl start for each time zone in the United States.

  • Super Bowl start time Eastern: 6:30 p.m. ET
  • SB start time Central: 5:30 p.m. CT
  • Super Bowl start time Mountain: 4:30 p.m. MT
  • SB start time Pacific: 3:30 p.m. PT

State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona is in the Mountain time zone. The sun will still be shining outside of the stadium at kickoff of Super Bowl LVII and will likely be shining inside the stadium as well. The home of the Arizona Cardinals has a retractable roof and the roof has been open for the previous two Super Bowls in the stadium.

As for what time does the Super Bowl end, you can expect the Big Game to go a little longer than typical NFL games due to a lengthier halftime show and countless commercial breaks. Most Super Bowls last around 3 hours and 20 minutes. Expect this year’s Super Bowl to end around 9:52 p.m. ET.
