What Sports Are Legal To Bet On In Kansas?

With the Jayhawk State being a mecca for college basketball, Kansans will be happy to know that the state does not restrict betting on college sports– in-state or otherwise. States like New Jersey ban betting on in-state teams while states like Oregon ban betting on college sports altogether. It’s a heady move by Kansas as the Jayhawk men’s basketball team comes off an NCAA Championship from this past April.

Other states like Illinois ban prop betting on college sports, but Kansas doesn’t have such restrictions.

The largest sports leagues are also fair game, including the NFL, NBA, and MLB. Kansas fully launches legal sports betting just in time for the opening of the NFL season, meaning it’s fair game to bet on the Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, and the other 30 NFL teams.

Horse racing has been legal in the Sunflower State since 1986, although no tracks currently operate in the state. Apps like TVG have offered horse race betting options to Kansans for years.

The name of the game for sportsbooks today is to offer the widest range of bets for the widest range of sports. In Kansas, sportsbooks will offer betting options on sports from the US Open to international cricket matches and everything in between.

What Sports Are Not Legal To Bet On In Kansas?
