With the temporary license, online and retail operators can offer odds on esports events across the state. Oddin.gg earned the betting license after demonstrating services that fully comply with regulatory systems in WV.

“We are thrilled to achieve yet another important milestone for Oddin.gg,” said Vlastimil Venclik, co-founder and CEO of Oddin.gg. “Acquiring the West Virginia license strengthens our position in the US market. Combined with new US-based operators becoming our clients, this license marks another significant step in our North American expansion strategy. The work doesn’t stop here; we are actively working on acquiring further US licenses to support both existing clients and future prospects.”

Esports betting is available to West Virginia bettors on Betly, BetMGM, BetRivers, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, FanDuel, and Golden Nugget. With Oddin.gg, these operators can now offer esports odds with data provided by the B2B esports specialist.

Oddin.gg hopes to acquire more state sports betting licenses. The company wants to bring more markets, live opportunities, and higher engagement to esports.

Esports Betting Popularity Examined

According to DLT Solutions, over 270 universities have varsity esports programs, including West Virginia University and Concord University. The esports scene in West Virginia is extremely popular. Students can earn an undergraduate Esports Business and Entertainment (ESPT) degree at WVU. It’s the perfect market for an operator like Oddin.gg to expand its data offerings.

“Every year, we are adding 2 billion dollars on top of what the current market cap is,” said Austin Clay, Esports Director at Concord University. “Which is insanely good for the scene and also for any student or anyone coming out of college.”

Oddin.gg is entering a thriving esports market in West Virginia, and local operators will likely embrace its offerings.
