Each week, TheLines previews what will be some of the most wagered-on events in sports. Golf takes center stage this week, with The Masters starting on Thursday. The NFL slate, meanwhile, will be highlighted by the Seahawks vs. Rams and the Bills vs. Cardinals.
The Masters (Thursday – Sunday)
It’s the granddaddy of them all as casual golf fans usually take some time out of their weekend to join the diehards and watch The Masters. Last year’s installment was one of the greatest in tournament history with the triumphant and iconic victory by Tiger Woods. This year, the usual suspects top the odds tables – Bryson DeChambeau (+900 at FanDuel Sportsbook), Dustin Johnson (+950) and Jon Rahm (+1000). Other names of interest include Justin Thomas (+1400), Brooks Koepka (+1600), and Woods (+4000).
Boxing: Terence Crawford vs. Kell Brook (Saturday)
Terence Crawford (36-0-0) is considered the best pound-for-pound boxer today, and his opponent – Kell Brook (39-2-0) has won three straight fights. Crawford enters this fight as a huge favorite at -1450.
Brook’s prime boxing years look like they’re in the past, however namesake and gaudy win-loss records draw eyes, and plenty of betting revenue.
Bills at Cardinals (Sunday)
There are plenty of other pieces at play, but the storyline that should dominate this game is Josh Allen vs. Kyler Murray. Both quarterbacks are playing better than they ever have and the offensive weapons on both sides make this an electric game to watch. Buffalo () is an underdog on the road despite coming fresh off a blowout win over the Seahawks. The Cardinals () lost a frustrating battle at home to Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins, and the defense will be looking to right the ship.
Seahawks at Rams (Sunday)
Sorry, rest of the NFL. The NFC West is dominating this edition of the biggest betting stories of the week. The Seahawks () were just decimated at home by Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills and now get a chance to turn it around in a huge division game. The Rams () are fresh off their bye week and have a chance to tie for the NFC West lead. Los Angeles is undefeated at SoFi Stadium this year (and, by that metric, all-time) and oddsmakers have given the slight edge the Sean McVay’s crew. Keep an eye on the Rams’ receiving tandem of Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp – they could be in store for some big numbers.
