The WAC conference basketball tournament tips off on Tuesday. One lucky team in the 13-team conference will punch a ticket to March Madness. We’ll take a look at all of the pertinent WAC tournament odds and how you can watch.
Top-seeded Utah Valley and Sam Houston State, respectively, unsurprisingly sit at the top of the odds board. Both teams represented the collective class of the WAC this season at 15-3 and 14-4, respectively, and the markets believe there’s about a 70.0% chance one will take the conference’s March Madness berth.

Tournament Notes
The WAC tournament bracket omits New Mexico State and puts the remaining 12 into a single-elimination bracket. That means the top-four teams get directly seeded into the quarterfinals. In addition to the top two, Southern Utah and Seattle got the seeding nod, the latter on the tiebreaker over Grand Canyon and Stephen F. Austin, respectively.
The market essentially sees three tiers of realistic contenders.
At the top, Utah Valley and Sam Houston St. are on a collision course to the final. They rank in their own tier in the top 80 of KenPom’s efficiency numbers, with Sam Houston St. having the slight edge. The teams faced off once in the regular season, with Utah Valley prevailing easily at home. That 80-64 result came way back in late December, though.
Third-seeded Southern Utah sits in its own tier. It has a tough draw, having to likely face Stephen F. Austin and then Utah Valley just to make the finals.
Then, Stephen F. Austin, Grand Canyon and Seattle all sit between +1500 and +2000. Seattle does get to skip the first round, unlike the others, but that’s balanced out by rating the weakest in efficiency.
Of the top contenders, Southern Utah may have the best fan support in Las Vegas, the campus only being located about 2 1/2 hours away in Cedar City.
