USFL Week 7 Odds

Birmingham Stallions at New Orleans Breakers

The Stallions got back in the win column in Week 6 to move to 4-2 with a 27-13 win over the Panthers. The Breakers lost their second straight after a 4-0 start, a 16-10 defeat at the hands of the Stars.

Birmingham will be out for atonement after a 45-31 throttling from the Breakers in Week 3. The Stallions come into the rematch with RB C.J. Marable having just gained a career-high 100 rushing yards. They’ll need another strong performance to help keep New Orleans’ aggressive defense honest.

Breakers RB Wes Hills gashed Birmingham for 191 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the first matchup. He’ll likely encounter a defense highly geared to ensure New Orleans must beat them through other means. Consequently, it’s worth pointing out QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson has struggled during New Orleans’ two-game losing streak, throwing three interceptions and losing two fumbles .

The Stallions are 1.5-point favorites for what should be a very competitive matchup.

Philadelphia Stars at Pittsburgh Maulers

The Stars got to .500 with a 16-10 win over the Breakers in Week 6, while the Maulers fell to 2-4 with a 22-0 loss to the Showboats.

The Stars are still subjecting QB Case Cookus to a beating (10 sacks in last two games alone) and have the league’s most anemic running game (43.7 rushing yards per contest). Cookus has thrown for under 200 yards in each of the last two games and now faces a league-best Maulers run defense. They can likely make Philly’s offense even more one-dimensional.

Pittsburgh is trying to find stability at the QB position between James Morgan and Troy Williams. Philadelphia allows a league-high 5.4 yards per carry, but only Williams has proven capable of consistently churning out meaningful gains on the ground for the Maulers.

The game between the two inconsistent squads was fittingly listed as a pick. Early action has moved the line toward Pittsburgh.

Houston Gamblers at Memphis Showboats

The Gamblers notched their fourth straight victory in Week 6, a 16-10 win over the Generals. The Showboats were dominant in a 22-0 win over the Maulers.

The Gamblers once again rode the back of towering RB Mark Thompson in Week 6 despite the return of Kenji Bahar from a one-game absence. However, the Showboats defense has been very tough all the way around during the team’s three-game winning streak. After a terrible start, they have given up just 20 total points over that span.

The Showboats do a bit of everything on offense to complement the defense’s effort. QB Cole Kelley seemingly gains confidence by the week. Houston has been most attackable through the air, allowing a co-league high 11 passing touchdowns along with league-highs 67.6% completion rate and 7.1 yards per attempt.

In a battle of red-hot squads, the Gamblers are listed as 3-point favorites.

Michigan Panthers at New Jersey Generals

The Panthers were tripped up by the Stallions, 27-13, their fourth straight loss. The Generals’ skid extended to three games with a 16-10 loss to the Gamblers.

The Panthers’ Stevie Scott/Reggie Corbin backfield duo is talented, but game script has limited their opportunities at times. The Generals defense presents a daunting matchup all the way around, considering New Jersey allows a league-low 210.8 total yards per contest and co-leads the league with 16 sacks.

New Jersey went with just Kyle Lauletta at quarterback last week but still took a loss, so De’Andre Johnson could figure back into the mix for this matchup. However, the path of least resistance against the Panthers figures to be the ground, where Michigan allows 4.8 yards per carry and has conceded a USFL-high nine touchdowns.

The Generals are listed as the biggest favorites of the week at 6.5 points.

Best of luck betting USFL odds in Week 7.
