Below, we’ll explain why that is and reveal ways to bet on the USA or Uruguay in their third Copa America match. How To Bet On USA Soccer Odds vs. Uruguay

The first three (and most popular ways) to bet on USMNT games are to bet the spread, moneyline, or total goals. Each is explained below. Remember that soccer games can end in draws during group stages, hence the three-way line.

USMNT Copa America Tournament Predictions

The fourth way to bet on the USMNT is via futures. These are prediction bets on how far the Stars and Stripes will advance in Copa America:

  • to advance out of Group C (finish first or second in the group)
  • to win Group
  • to reach final
  • to win tournament

The USMNT was considered a fringe contender entering the event but is now on the ropes. A major setback against Panama means they likely need a win against group favorites Uruguay. The Americans are currently in second and would advance as it stands. But the problem is that Panama still gets to play group punching bag Bolivia.

Considering Bolivia is 0-2 with a -7 goal difference, the USMNT certainly can’t count on any help.

Game Props

The fifth fun way to bet on USA soccer odds vs. Uruguay is by utilizing game props. See below for some select game props. Soccer game props at your sportsbooks include both teams to score, total yellow cards, and corner kicks. More props will be added as they become available.

Player Props

Another way to bet on the USMNT for Monday is by utilizing player props. See below for select USMNT vs. Uruguay odds, including to anytime goalscorer, to score the first goal, etc.

USMNT Vs. Uruguay Preview

Tim Weah may have cost the USMNT everything. The talented winger lost his cool and was sent off early against Panama, and his teammates were unable to pick up the slack. They gave a quality effort, but it wasn’t enough. Panama netted late for a 2-1 win.

First, the bad news. All Panama needs to do is wipe out Bolivia, and it likely won’t matter what the USMNT does on Monday night. Something like a 4-0 win would put them at a +3 goal differential and all but eliminate the Americans. Considering Bolivia looks like the worst team in the event by quite a bit, that scenario hardly seems farfetched.

If — and this is a major if — Bolivia can give a decent accounting of themselves, then the door opens considerably wider for the USMNT. Even, say, a 2-0 Panama win would mean a U.S. win over Uruguay would see them through. That two-goal difference is probably the magic number. Anything greater and the USMNT’s chances become slim.

Furthermore, the U.S. will play without both Weah and starting keeper Matt Turner, in all likelihood. He came off injured after a mid-air collision. Ethan Horvath replaced him, and he lacks Turner’s EPL credentials and experience.

The good news is two-fold. First, the Americans are playing reasonably well. According to the NYT’s xGoals, the U.S. outperformed Panama despite the man disadvantage (1.08 to 0.77).

Will Uruguay rest starters?

Better still, Uruguay has already essentially secured the group with a massive +7 goal difference and six points. That means they may rest a slew of starters, so take the projected lineup below with a pound of salt.

Thus, the U.S. is in the odd position of being favored (with a plurality of the odds, anyway) to get six points while being an underdog to advance. However, it is not confirmed that Uruguay will rest starters, despite manager Marcelo Bielsa being suspended for the game for some of his players being late out of the locker room.

“We would like to be first in our group. We’re going on the pitch to win,” Bielsa said. “There are many factors that are considered in determining that lineup. There’s the technical approach of our opponent that needs to be taken into consideration, and we’re working on that so that we can actually come up with the best possible lineup to take on the United States.”
