The U.S. Men’s National Team scratched out a point against Wales with an opening match draw in Group B, but the big showdown for the USMNT comes the day after Thanksgiving against mighty England. With Wales losing 2-0 to Iran Friday morning, the path to advance to the Knockout Round is wider for the USMNT. The Black Friday match against England will be televised at 2 p.m. ET on FOX and Telemundo in the United States. The best available USA odds to win the match are .

Another draw, or perhaps even only losing by one goal could go a long way in advancing the hopes of the Stars and Stripes of advancing the to Knockout Stage. A win would surely secure a spot in the Round of 16.

England Odds

With the first round of Group B fixtures now being contested, a picture has been subsequently formed. One that sees England sit clear at the top, while Wales and USA odds reflect two teams duking it out for second.

A picture that many on the other side of the Atlantic would have envisaged before the first World Cup ball was kicked in anger and for those who support the Three Lions, such a vision burst into life on Monday afternoon.

With a 6-2 win over Iran now in the history books, Gareth Southgate’s men have roared themselves to a perfect start in Qatar. Although if the manager was being hypercritical, he may wonder how England managed to concede twice at the start of the week.

Even though his team dominated their Middle Eastern opponents, there were a couple of defensive lapses towards the end. Blips that although meant little in the grand scheme of things, are the same aberrations that will get punished later in the tournament.

USA Odds

While an aberration is how you would largely describe the United States’ failure to close out Monday evening’s encounter with Wales. After such a commanding performance in the first 45 minutes, a tied game will certainly feel like two points dropped.

Two points that could make all the difference between progress to the Round of 16 and the first flight back home. Had there be just a little more in the way of game management against Gareth Bale and company, only goal difference would separate England and their next opponents.

Although there are still 180 minutes of guaranteed World Cup action for Gregg Berhalter’s men, the first 90 may have already defined the eventual outcome of this four-team league and if the United States Men’s National Team are to progress, they must navigate a difficult balancing act.

In theory, it may boil down to how little they can lose by when facing England and how much of a winning margin they can put past Iran. With that said, this tournament has already thrown up a considerable shock and there a certain to be plenty more before the final is contested next month.

Of course, to say that a United States win over England would be a considerable shock, is a statement that does the likes of Christian Pulisic and Timothy Weah a huge disservice. After linking up to score the team’s first goal at this year’s finals, they will be tasked to deliver once more.

There is certainly going to be extra impetus when it comes to Pulisic and his own performance. With Premier League minutes being rationed out at present, the Chelsea forward will be keen to get one over his divisional counterparts.

What better way of reminding Chelsea boss Graham Potter of your worth. Worth that would only increase after a good showing at the finals and if he can make decent progress on this international front, it may help his cause when he returns to West London.

Series History

In addition to all of this, the class of 2022 will not only look to emulate the class of 2010 but go one better. 12 years ago, England were held to a 1-1 draw in South Africa, a result that certainly felt like a win on these shores, now the current crop may have to go all out for victory on Friday.

Roster News

As for team news, England’s only concern will be the fitness of defender Harry Maguire. With the Manchester United defender going off after a dizzy spell, he will be monitored in the build up to this fixture.

While the USA may look to make a change in midfield and deploy Brendon Aaronson from the start. Should this be the case, it will add further strength to the current link between the national team and the English Premier League.

England predicted lineup: Pickford; Trippier, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; Bellingham, Rice, Mount; Sterling, Saka, Kane
USA predicted lineup: Turner; Dest, Zimmerman, Ream, Robinson; McKennie, Adams, Aaronson; Weah, Sargent, Pulisic

England vs. USA Odds: Props To Considers

Harry Kane to score anytime:

Although the Tottenham talisman recently failed to get the better of Iran’s defence, he still played a substantial part in England’s win. No goal on the scoresheet but two assists. It was these that displayed his all-round attacking ability.

If he drops deep, he has plenty of runners that will go in behind him and do the necessary legwork. If he positions himself between the goalposts, he is going to cause Matt Turner and the American backline plenty of headaches.

While because he drew a blank against the Iranians, he will be keen to right that wrong on Friday. Especially as the Golden Boot award is currently in his possession and he is not willing to give it up without a fight. Add these reasons together and a Kane goal is offering considerably good value.

England 2-0 United States (+625 at BetMGM)

If Kane is going to score one goal on Friday, then you may want to consider that as half the job done. Especially if you are looking to place a correct score bet before kick-off and although England did put six past Iran, we may have to consider that a red herring.

Should the Three Lions get in front and then eventually secure their winning position, an element of pragmatism may be required by Gregg Berhalter. As mentioned earlier, qualification can still be earned by beating Iran themselves by a considerable amount.

The worst thing his charges can do is lose by a margin that almost makes the third game irrelevant. Lose if you have to, but if you can lose by just two goals, you will live to fight a third and final game at this year’s World Cup finals.

Best of luck betting England vs. USA odds.

How Can USA Advance Out Of The Group Stage?

With Wales losing to Iran, Wales only has one point with one match remaining and Iran has three points with one match remaining. If Wales lost to Iran, it would be a crazy unlikely outcome for Wales to defeat England in its final match. If we assume Wales loses to the Three Lions, the picture to advance is clear for the United States.

Even with a loss to England, a win over Iran Tuesday in its final match would send the USMNT to the Round of 16. That would mean the USA would have four points, Iran three points and Wales one point (or two if they earn a draw with England). That would be enough for second in Group B and a spot in the Knockout Rounds.

However, a draw against Iran would give the Iranians four points in the group, a total that would be more than the USA, unless the United States can earn an upset win over England.
