Team USA A Massive Favorite For Likely The Final Time
Brazil represents likely the last easy game for Team USA basketball. Their Olympic basketball roster has only two NBA players, and fringe ones at that. Beyond that, they have respectable international talent. But at the end of the day, this team is well below the level of Serbia, a team the modern Dream Team has already crushed.
Brazil finished third in its group behind Germany and France, only managing a single win against Japan.
Meanwhile, Team USA is dealing with a couple of minor injuries to Jrue Holiday and Anthony Davis. However, both players should be good to go for the knockout rounds. Davis is especially important as he’s arguably been the team’s best big man this Olympic cycle.

USA Basketball Looks To Continue Gold Medal Streak
The market has slightly increased its confidence in Team USA after a pretty dominant group stage. They failed to cover the final two games against South Sudan and Puerto Rico, but the latter game was essentially meaningless, affecting only seeding.
That seeding did wind up pretty favorable, though. Team USA appears to be lined up to likely face Serbia in the semifinal. Not only did they steamroll Nikola Jokic and Co. in the group stage, but they also routed them in the exhibition tune-ups. It would fairly qualify as a stunner if Team USA fell before the final.
At that point, look for a competitive matchup against either Canada or Germany. The defending world champions, Germany, impressively routed France in the deciding group match to earn the No. 2 overall seed. They built a 20-point lead in the second half before winning 85-71. Canada had less impressive results but arguably faced a more difficult group. They certainly rank second to Team USA in NBA talent.
Assuming either of those two teams makes the finals, we may see a single-digit line, a rarity with Team USA involved. Since NBA players gained eligibility, Team USA has won seven of eight gold medals, failing only in 2004 in Greece.
