USA vs. Brazil Odds: USWNT Favored Despite Rocky Path To Gold Cup Finals

The CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup Final will pit the USWNT against Brazil. Despite a somewhat uneven path to get there, the Americans are favored in U.S. vs. Brazil odds.
Bettors and viewers can tune in on CBS Sports/Paramount+ at 8:15 p.m. ET. The match takes place in San Diego as the U.S. serves as the host country, so the USWNT will have a bit of home-field advantage.
Can USA Win First Iteration Of Women's Gold Cup?
While the U.S. women enter the finale as favorites over Brazil, the four-time World Cup winners have not had the cleanest path to reach this point.
In groups, the USWNT dropped a 2-0 decision to Mexico. That led to a difficult draw as the No. 4 seed, though they were able to overcome it by squeaking past top-seeded Canada in the semis via penalty kicks. Overall, the USWNT, ranked second in the world, has put together a +10 goal differential in the tournament.
Brazil earned the No. 2 seed on the strength of a clean sweep of its group, with zero goals allowed. Brazil put together a +14 goal difference when factoring in its knockout run, including a 3-0 pasting of the same Mexican side that bested the U.S.
However, the USWNT did face a much tougher set of opponents. Both Canada and first-round foe Colombia have stronger FIFA rankings than either team Brazil played. Those same FIFA rankings rate the Americans much higher, with Brazil checking in at just No. 11.
Coming off a poor World Cup showing last year, the Americans will look to reassert themselves as a dominant international side.
