Underdog NFL DFS Picks For Bears vs. Jaguars In London
The Jaguars finally broke out of their offensive rut last week, putting up 37 points on the Colts in a winning effort. Trevor Lawrence looked like the #1 Pick he was taken to be. That said, he’s facing a stiff test this week. The Bears’ defense is fourth in the league in EPA, and first in pass defense. That will pose a stiff challenge for the Jaguars.
On the other side, the Jaguars are not as stiff a challenge as the Bears defensively. The Jaguars are last in the league in Pass Defense EPA. Caleb Williams will have the opportunity for a big game in his London debut.
Caleb Williams Higher Than 234.5 Passing Yards
Williams has thrown for 300+ yards in two of his last three outings, but this is less about Williams and significantly more about the Jags defense. They’re a respectable-ish 12th against the run on top of being literally DFL against the pass. There is no reason not to throw the ball a ton.
If the Bears defense struggles a bit, then this number could be significantly too low, but last week the Bears were never losing against the Panthers and they still threw it all over the lot. A pass defense this bad is a prime opportunity to let Williams continue to grow, which will be needed later on in the season as they try to contend for a playoff spot.
Travis Etienne Lower Than 44.5 Rushing Yards
Etienne has lost his job at this point, and the market’s not responding enough. Tank Bigsby got 13/19 running back carries, he got the goal line and early down work, and he ran for 5 yards/carry more than Etienne. Travis is now a late-down pass-catching back.
This line is slow and unresponsive to the changing backfield. It’s clear that Doug Pederson prefers Bigsby at this point. With how much better Tank has been than Etienne the last two weeks, there’s a great case for an Etienne Under and hammering Bigsby in Anytime Touchdown markets, after getting two last week.
DJ Moore Higher Than 62.5 Receiving Yards
Moore has gotten 42 targets in 5 games, an average of 8.4/game. In two of the past three weeks, he’s cruised over this number. Unsurprisingly, he’s gone over the two weeks Caleb has thrown for 300+ yards. He now faces a terrible Jags pass defense.
That defense got hit for 45-yard and 65-yard big plays in the fourth quarter against the Colts. Old Man Joe Flacco was able to destroy the Jags defense. Caleb Williams really should be able to get Moore open in space, too, for a big play.
