Do Wolves actually have something going here? It’s probably too little, too late for Wolverhampton, even after back-to-back victories, but they’re still showing signs of fight even as they sit bottom of the Premier League.

They now face an immediate rematch with Liverpool in this FA Cup tie, once again at the Molineux. And with the Reds likely more concerned with their Champions League match with Galatasaray on Tuesday, Wolves are likely to find an opponent who’s not as worried about this result.

While Liverpool would like to reverse its result from last time out, the Reds have far more pressing needs. And that likely opens the door for Wolves to score another result in what has otherwise been a wretched season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Liverpool Prediction

Wolves have everything to play for here. They’re almost certain to be relegated from the Premier League, so this tournament is their top priority. Liverpool’s situation is completely different, and the Reds don’t have a great history at the Molineux.

Liverpool has lost two of its past four visits to Wolves, including last time out. With yet another away fixture up next, this much time away from Anfield is likely to weigh on Liverpool mentally.

Wolves have also started to show signs of improvement. They’ve lost just once in their past six matches, and that gets an asterisk because Wolves had to play the final half-hour of a 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace down a man. Wolverhampton just beat Aston Villa, who’s currently in a Champions League spot, so it’s clearly playing some of its best football of the campaign.

With that being the case, there’s a lot of value in backing Wolves to at least have the match level after 90 minutes. At plus money, this play makes sense.

Wolves vs. Liverpool Same Game Parlay

The past four matches between Wolves and Liverpool have finished with the same scoreline: 2-1. However, with Liverpool’s top priorities elsewhere, a fifth straight might be a step too far for the Reds.

Instead, backing both teams to score makes the most sense. Liverpool has failed to keep a clean sheet in four of its past seven matches, and Wolves have conceded in seven straight against the Reds. Although Wolves did just keep a clean sheet at home to Aston Villa, the Lions are one of the more defensive-focused sides in the Premier League.

Not so for Liverpool, which hasn’t failed to score since a scoreless draw on Jan. 8 with Arsenal. The Reds should find the net, which means backing the score draw at 1-1 makes the most sense for a correct score play.
