This thrilling-looking fixture is taking place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The winners will face either Canada or Morocco in the quarter-finals in Foxborough. Check out the Paraguay vs France odds, tips, and predictions in this betting preview.

Paraguay vs France Picks & Preview

Paraguay went through from Group D as one of the best third-place teams, finishing on four points. United States collected six points to win the group, with both Australia and Paraguay taking four points from a possible nine.

Paraguay responded well from their opening loss to USA, edging past Turkey in Santa Clara on matchday two. Matias Galarza’s second-minute effort was enough for a 1-0 victory. A 0-0 draw with the Aussies in game three put both nations through.

The Paraguayans were the big underdogs against Germany in the Round of 32. They took the lead before the break thanks to Julio Enciso’s strike, but Kai Havertz levelled in the 54th minute. The tie went to extra time then penalties, and the South Americans won the shootout 4-3 to progress.

France have arguably been the best team on show in North America so far, cruising to four wins from four games. Going by the France World Cup odds, Les Bleus have always been the bookies’ favourites to lift the trophy, and they won Group I with maximum points.

Didier Deschamps’ men got their World Cup up and running with a 3-1 victory over Senegal in New Jersey. The French then sealed a 3-0 win against Iraq before ending the group with a 4-1 triumph over Norway in Foxborough.

France made light work of fellow Europeans, Sweden, in the Round of 32. Kylian Mbappe added to his World Cup tally with a brace, and Bradley Barcola was also on target in the 3-0 victory.

Deschamps’ boys have looked the real deal in the tournament up to now, and they will undoubtedly take some stopping. Paraguay did exceptionally well to get the better of the Germans, but France is a tougher assignment.

The French, who have reached the last two World Cup finals, could dominate this last-16 tie from start to finish. We are predicting another comfortable victory for Les Bleus, and you can get 6/5 for France to win both halves in Philadelphia.

Mbappe is sitting a goal behind Lionel Messi in the top scorer chart. The pair have been battling each other in the World Cup Golden Boot odds from the start, with Messi the slight favourite, but Mbappe is hot on his heels.

The Real Madrid superstar always backs himself to get on the scoresheet, and Mbappe could light up the World Cup at the last-16 stage. He has scored two or more goals in three of France’s four World Cup games so far, and the captain is priced at 11/4 with 10Bet to score 2+ goals in this one.

Our Prediction: Kylian Mbappe to Score 2+ Goals – 11/4
