Germany vs Ivory Coast Odds, Tips & Predictions: Havertz to Inspire Germans to Another Victory?
Germany and Ivory Coast go head-to-head at BMO Field in Group E action at the 2026 FIFA World Cup this weekend. The winners in Toronto will guarantee their place in the Round of 32.
The Germans are the bookies’ favourites, but the African nation could make life difficult. With two contrasting styles on show, this promises to be an entertaining World Cup group match, but which way will it go in Toronto?
Germany vs Ivory Coast Picks & Preview
Both nations kicked off their tournaments with wins. Germany hammered Curacao in Houston, while Ivory Coast edged past Ecuador in Philadelphia. The pair have put themselves in a great position to reach the knockout phase.
Germany were mightily impressive in game one, albeit against the group minnows. Julian Nagelsmann’s men ran riot at NRG Stadium, with the likes of Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala netting in the 7-1 rout.
Ivory Coast were involved in a much tighter game against Ecuador at Lincoln Financial Field, scoring at the death to snatch all three points. Manchester United man Amad Diallo was the hero, firing in a second-half stoppage-time winner.
Looking at the Germany World Cup odds to win the tournament, the European powerhouse is available at 14/1 to lift the trophy for the first time since 2014. Those odds will surely shorten if they secure another three points in game two.
Ivory Coast have their own World Cup ambitions, and Emerse Fae’s men could be a tough nut to crack for the four-time World Cup winners. A positive result for the African nation would see them through to the last 32.
Ivory Coast will play their part in Toronto, but we are backing the Germans to get the job done. PricedUp are offering 19/10 for Germany to win and both teams to score, which could be worth taking a look at.
Our Prediction: Germany to Win & BTTS – 19/10
Germany vs Ivory Coast Picks & Odds
Germany are in red-hot form right now, winning each of their last ten fixtures. Nagelsmann’s troops are one of the form teams in the World Cup, and they could be the ones to watch in the knockout stages.
The Germans have won by more than one goal in three of their last six, thumping Curacao, Finland, and Slovakia along the way. Germany look more than capable of winning by more than a one-goal margin in Canada this weekend. We like the look of PricedUp’s World Cup odds of 13/10 for the Europeans to win -1.
Our Prediction: Germany to Win -1 – 13/10
Germany vs Ivory Coast Predictions
Kai Havertz has put his name on the World Cup Golden Boot odds list after netting a brace in Germany’s opening game. Since returning from injury, the Arsenal man has been in fine scoring form, netting eight times for club and country from late March.
Havertz scored some crucial goals for the Gunners at the end of the season, including the winner in a 1-0 victory over Burnley in the Premier League. He was also on target against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final at the end of May.
Before his brace against Curacao, Havertz opened the scoring in a 2-1 friendly victory over USA. He will be eager to add to his excellent scoring form by netting in a fourth consecutive game.
Ivory Coast need to be wary of his threat, as the 27-year-old can pop up at any time and grab a goal. We are backing Havertz to get his name on the scoresheet yet again, and the odds of 17/4 for Germany’s No. 7 to open the scoring at BMO Field are worth having a punt on.
Our Prediction: Kai Havertz to Score First – 17/4
