The first 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final takes place today, as France and Morocco lock horns at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.

The French are the heavy favourites with the bookmakers, but can the Moroccans cause an upset in Massachusetts? Check out the France vs Morocco odds, tips, and picks in this World Cup betting preview.

France vs Morocco Picks & Preview

France have looked the real deal in North America so far, winning five out of five and scoring 14 goals. They finished top of Group I with maximum points, netting ten and conceding two along the way.

Les Bleus kicked off their tournament with a 3-1 win against Senegal in New Jersey. They booked their place in the knockouts with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Iraq at Lincoln Financial Field, with Kylian Mbappe scoring another brace. In game three, France beat a much-changed Norway 4-1.

Their reward for winning the group was a last-32 tie with Sweden. Mbappe (2) and Bradley Barcola were on target in a 3-0 win. In the Round of 16, Mbappe’s penalty was enough for a 1-0 victory over Paraguay in Philadelphia.

Looking at the France World Cup odds throughout the tournament, the European heavyweights have remained the favourites. The 2022 runners-up will take some stopping in the latter rounds.

Morocco have kicked on from their 2022 exploits, reaching yet another World Cup quarter-final. In Qatar four years ago, they became the first African nation to reach the last four, but they were beaten by France in the semi-finals. Can the Atlas Lions get revenge in this one?

The Moroccans are enjoying another fine World Cup, collecting seven points in the group stage to ease into the last 32. Their tournament started with a 1-1 draw with record winners Brazil.

Morocco sealed their passage through to the knockouts with back-to-back Group C wins against Scotland and Haiti. They beat the Scots by a goal to nil before edging a six-goal thriller against the Haitians.

In the Round of 32, Mohamed Ouahbi’s men were minutes away from exiting, but Issa Diop’s late goal forced extra time against Netherlands. The tie went to penalties, and the Moroccans held their nerve to win the shootout 3-2.

Morocco were superb against co-hosts Canada in Houston in the last 16. The excellent Azzedine Ounahi scored two, while Soufiane Rahimi was on target in a convincing 3-0 triumph.

Both nations head into this World Cup quarter-final in fine form. France have won ten of their last 11 and lost just once in a year. As for Morocco, if you take away the 2025 AFCON final, they are unbeaten since August 2025.

Morocco have done superbly well to get this far, but we fancy France to end their World Cup campaign once again. We like 10Bet’s 7/5 for the French to be winning at half time and full time.

Our Prediction: France HT/FT – 7/5
