Czech Republic vs Mexico Odds, Tips & Predictions: Mexicans to Go Through on Maximum Points
Czech Republic and Mexico go head-to-head in 2026 FIFA World Cup action in Mexico City. The Mexicans are already through to the Round of 32, but can they move on to nine points?
Czechia need to win their last match to stand any chance of joining Mexico in the knockout phase. As for the co-hosts, a victory will see them progress as Group A winners. Who will come out on top at the spectacular Estadio Azteca?
Czech Republic vs Mexico Picks & Preview
Czech Republic have left themselves with plenty of work to do after taking just one point from a possible six. Going by the latest World Cup Group A odds, the Czechs are big underdogs in the race for the top two.
Miroslav Koubek’s men started their World Cup campaign with a disappointing 2-1 loss to South Korea in Zapopan. They took the lead through Ladislav Krejci, but two late Korea goals gave the Taegeuk Warriors all three points.
Czech Republic could have done with a win in their next game, but the Europeans were held to a 1-1 draw by South Africa. An early Michal Sadilek goal was cancelled out by a late Teboho Mokoena penalty.
Mexico have had a brilliant time as co-hosts, booking their place in the last 32 with one group game spare. They kicked off the tournament with a 2-0 victory over the South Africans, with Julian Quinones and Raul Jimennez getting the goals.
Javier Aguirre’s side then made 100% sure of a place in the next round with a hard-fought win against South Korea at Estadio Akron. Luis Romo got the only goal of the game five minutes into the second half.
A point will be enough for the Mexicans to seal first place in Group A. However, the co-hosts will be looking to go through on maximum points with a routine win on home soil.
Czech Republic desperately need a victory, but we can see the ferocious Azteca crowd cheering the hosts to glory. Check out the solid odds of 21/4 with 10Bet for Mexico to be winning at half time and full time.
Our Prediction: Mexico HT/FT – 21/4
Czech Republic vs Mexico Picks & Odds
Mexico have picked up six points out of six in Group A, keeping two clean sheets to boot. Their defence has been stubborn so far, and the Czechs could struggle to break through in Mexico City.
El Tri have won five games on the trot, conceding just one goal in the process. They could keep Czech Republic at bay in this one, and we like the look of 11/5 for Mexico to win to nil.
Our Prediction: Mexico to Win to Nil – 11/5
Czech Republic vs Mexico Predictions
Before the game against South Korea, Raul Jimenez had scored two in two in the green Mexican shirt. He netted in the final World Cup warm-up game, an impressive 5-1 win against Serbia.
He then got off the mark in the World Cup in game one, scoring in the 67th minute of the 2-0 victory over South Africa.
Jimenez had a solid final season for Fulham in the Premier League, scoring nine times. Just before the World Cup, the 35-year-old made the switch back to Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he made his name in England.
Before focusing on his club career, Jimenez has a job to do for the Mexican national team this summer. The Wolves man will fancy his chances of keeping up his fine scoring form in this one.
We are backing Jimenez to score against the Czechs, and World Cup odds of 9/2 for the No. 9 to open the scoring at the Azteca could be worth having a punt on.
Our Prediction: Raul Jimenez to Score First – 9/2
