Canada vs Qatar Odds, Tips & Predictions: Victory in Vancouver for the Co-Hosts?
Canada and Qatar lock horns in the 2026 FIFA World Cup today, with both teams looking to build on opening-day draws. The Canadians are the clear favourites to win this Group B match at BC Place in Vancouver.
All four nations in the group are on one point, leaving Group B wide open. Victory for one of these sides will all but book a spot in the Round of 32. Check out this betting preview for the latest Canada vs Qatar odds, and our picks and predictions.
Canada vs Qatar Picks & Preview
Canada would have wanted all three points from their opening 2026 World Cup fixture, but Bosnia & Herzegovina proved to be a tough nut to crack at BMO Field. The pair played out a fair 1-1 draw.
Bosnia took a surprise lead in Toronto thanks to Jovo Lukic’s goal. However, backed by the incredible home crowd, Canada rallied and got their equaliser late on. Southampton striker Cyle Larin came off the bench to net in the 78th minute.
Qatar also picked up a point in their opening Group B fixture. They were the big underdogs against in-form Switzerland in Santa Clara, and the Swiss took an early lead when Breel Embolo scored from the spot after just 17 minutes.
Still, the Qataris were not to be denied, and they forced an equaliser in second-half stoppage time. Hamburger SV midfielder Miro Muheim unfortunately put through his own net to gift the Maroon One an unlikely point at Levi’s Stadium.
The draw with Bosnia gave Canada their first-ever World Cup point, previously losing six out of six. Jesse Marsch’s side would love to follow it up by securing their first World Cup win in front of what will be an expectant Vancouver crowd.
Qatar did well to kick off their campaign with a solid draw, but our money is going on Canada in this one. PricedUp are offering excellent World Cup odds of 4/5 for the Canadians to win -1.
Our Prediction: Canada to Win -1 – 4/5
Canada vs Qatar Picks & Odds
Canada have yet to keep a clean sheet in a World Cup game, while Qatar scored just one goal when they hosted the World Cup four years ago. We are not anticipating too many goals in this fixture.
Still, if Canada can keep a clean sheet and seal maximum points, it would be the perfect way to go into their final Group B match with Switzerland. The Maple Leaf Team sealed a 2-0 victory over Uzbekistan in a World Cup warm-up fixture earlier in the month, and you can get 21/4 for a repeat scoreline here.
Our Prediction: Canada to Win 2-0 – 21/4
Canada vs Qatar Predictions
Larin came off the bench to be a hero in Canada’s opening game, scoring to earn his nation their first World Cup point. The Southampton man will be pushing for a start on matchday two.
The 31-year-old had an excellent season with the Saints in the EFL Championship after joining in February, scoring eight goals to help his side reach the play-offs. Before the World Cup, Larin signed a permanent two-year deal at St Mary’s.
He is nowhere near the top in the current World Cup Golden Boot odds, but Larin could be one to watch over the next few weeks, especially if Canada can book their place in the knockout phase.
He looked dangerous when he came on at the end of the 1-1 draw with Bosnia, and we are backing Larin to get his name on the scoresheet once again. The Southampton forward is available at 20/21 to score anytime at BC Place.
Our Prediction: Cyle Larin to Score Anytime – 20/21
