Matteo Arnaldi vs Flavio Cobolli

Arnaldi went up against compatriot Matteo Berrettini in the quarter-finals. He won the first set 7-5 and was 5-2 up in the second, but Berrettini had to retire due to an injury. Arnaldi had previously beaten Tallon Griekspoor, Stefanos Tsitispas, Raphael Collignon, and Frances Tiafoe in Paris.

Cobolli’s best performance in a Grand Slam was a quarter-final at Wimbledon. He has been sensational in Paris so far, seeing off the likes of Andrea Pellegrino and Learner Tien in the early rounds. In the quarter-finals, the Italian beat Felix Auger-Aliassime by three sets to one.

Maja Chwalinska vs Mirra Andreeva

On Saturday afternoon in the French capital, Chwalinska and Andreeva meet in the women’s French Open final. Not many would have predicted these two contesting the final before a ball was hit at Roland Garros, but both players are worthy finalists.

This has been Chwalinska’s best Grand Slam performance by far. The furthest she had previously got was the second round of Wimbledon back in 2022. The Pole is the underdog in the final, but can she spring a surprise?

Andreeva may only be 19, but she has already made a name for herself on the biggest stage. A former Wimbledon quarter-finalist, this will be the teenager’s first Grand Slam final appearance. Can Andreeva live up to the favourite tag and win her first senior major?

Andreeva made light work of in-form Marta Kostyuk in the semi-finals, winning 6-1, 6-3 to ease into the final. The No. 8 seed has dropped just one set in the entire tournament, so take a punt on Andreeva to win the final by two sets to zero (10/13).
