US Open Semi-final Predictions & Betting Tips 2026: 7/5, 13/4, 5/4 and 9/5 Picks

It’s been a whirlwind fortnight or so at Flushing Meadows and we arrive at our US Open semi-final predictions with plenty of storylines.

The women’s semis are first up tonight, with the top four seeds all making it through. Back-to-back champion Aryna Sabalenka faces home favourite Jessica Pegula at midnight UK time, before 2023 winner Coco Gauff faces Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina.

And on the men’s side, top seed Alexander Zverev faces unseeded Karen Khachanov, before an all-American showdown between Ben Shelton and Francis Tiafoe.

US Open Semi-final Predictions: Sabalenka vs Pegula

Sabalenka goes into this one as the 1/2 favourite, but Pegula has given her some tough matches over the years, and they have similar records at this year’s championship.

Both players endured tough, long matches last time out and have spent almost the same amount of time on court to reach this stage.

Of the eight matches they’ve played on hard courts, it’s 5-3 in Sabalenka’s favour, but the last two meetings have gone the distance, including a three-set victory for Sabalenka in last year’s semi-finals.

The defending champion hasn’t been totally convincing so far, and Pegula has been taken all the way in two of her last three matches. My pick here is Over 25.5 Total Games at 7/5 with Betnero.

Gauff vs Rybakina

It’s very difficult to separate these two. Gauff and Rybakina have identical records heading into the clash, and both have a win apiece from two previous meetings.

Gauff pulled victory from the jaws of defeat in her win over Mirra Andreeva in the quarters, while incoming new World No.1 Rybakina made tough work of Zheng Qinwen, ranked outside the top 100 prior to this tournament.

Both meetings between the two have gone the distance, and three of the six sets they’ve played have seen over 11.5 games. These two are a close match-up.

But I’m just leaning towards the Kazakh, who is so strong on the return of serve, and in a close game, that could be the deciding factor. A 2-1 win for Rybakina is 13/4.

Men’s Semi-final Predictions: Zverev vs Khachanov

Time for our US Open semi-final predictions to focus on the men’s draw. Zverev v Khachanov is first up on Friday night, and it’s hard to see past the German top seed.

Zverev was pushed into five sets in both the first and second rounds, and that has clearly sharpened his focus, with the 29-year-old not dropping a set since.

But Khachanov is an experienced operator and has already claimed the scalp of third seed Félix Auger-Aliassime in the second round.

The Russian’s recent record against Zverev is poor, though. It’s just one win in five meetings in the 2020s, and he’s only picked up one set in eleven they’ve played in that time.

And with Zverev in such superb form this year, I’m backing the straight-sets 3-0 win at 5/4.

Shelton vs Tiafoe

Finally, it’s the all-US clash between Ben Shelton and Francis Tiafoe, and it’s sure to be a cracker.

It was a five-set win for Tiafoe when these two met in the third round here in 2023, and their matches are usually closely fought affairs.

Both men endured gruelling quarter-final matches, with Shelton not registering his win over Carlos Alcaraz until past 3:30am local time. Will that count for something here?

But Tiafoe took almost five hours to get past Alex Michelsen, so we’re likely to have two leggy players at Arthur Ashe.

Shelton always seems to find an extra gear when it matters in New York, and having won three of their four meetings, I’m going for the Shelton Win and Over 40.5 Games double at 9/5.
