We were treated to some fine action on the opening day of the 2026 Wimbledon Championships yesterday, with the likes of Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, and Aryna Sabalenka picking up wins.

The matches are coming thick and fast, and we have more mouth-watering action to get stuck into today. Check out this Wimbledon tennis preview, as we pick out the best three matches and provide you with tips, predictions, and odds.

Wimbledon Tips & Predictions

Alexander Blockx vs Alexander Zverev

No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev kicks off his 2026 Wimbledon Championship with a first-round clash with Alexander Blockx. After finally picking up his first Grand Slam, can the German go back-to-back?

Blockx was knocked out in the first round last year and has yet to win a singles title on the ATP Tour since turning professional in 2022. The Belgian is unlikely to cause an upset against the French Open champion.

Zverev finally got his hands on a major trophy, seeing off Flavio Cobolli in an epic 2026 French Open final in Paris. Now that he has the monkey off his back, can the German ace add more Grand Slams to his trophy cabinet?

Zverev, who is currently third in the world, has struggled on the London grass over the years, never getting past the fourth round. Nevertheless, the 29-year-old is one of the tournament favourites this year.

Zverev should be too hot to handle for Blockx in this opening match, and we fancy him to go through without losing a set. You can get tennis odds of 4/5 for the German to win -2.5.

Our Prediction: Alexander Zverev to Win -2.5 – 4/11

Mariano Navone vs Flavio Cobolli

Mariano Navone and Cobolli lock horns in an intriguing first-round Wimbledon matchup today. After his heroics in Paris, can Cobolli go far in the English capital?

Navone is a capable player on his day, sealing one singles title on the ATP Tour. His best Grand Slam performance came last year at the French Open, reaching the third round.

Cobolli was a Wimbledon quarter-finalist last year, losing to the great Djokovic at the last-eight stage. His best performance came in the last Grand Slam, reaching the final of the 2026 French Open. The Italian put up a brave fight but was narrowly beaten by Zverev.

Cobolli has the potential to go further than the quarter-finals this year, and the 24-year-old should start his Wimbledon campaign with a comfortable victory over the Argentinian. You can get 8/5 at 10Bet for Cobolli to win 3-0.

Our Prediction: Flavio Cobolli to Win 3-0 – 8/5

Taylor Townsend vs Iga Swiatek

Iga Swiatek’s Wimbledon tournament gets underway today, as the Polish star takes on American Taylor Townsend. As expected, the world No. 3 is the strong favourite to prevail and book her place in round two.

Townsend has reached 30 and has yet to win a singles title on the WTA Tour. However, she reached No. 1 status as a doubles player, winning the Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon in the doubles. Her best Grand Slam singles performances were two fourth rounds at the US Open (2019 & 2025).

Swiatek heads to London as the defending women’s champion. The Warsaw-born star got the better of Amanda Anisimova in last year’s final, winning 6-0, 6-0. The 25-year-old has won six major titles so far and looks hungry for more success.

The reigning champion will want to reach round two with as little fuss as possible. Although we fancy Townsend to nick a set, Swiatek should sail through. You can get odds of 4/1 for the No. 3 seed to win by two sets to one.

Our Prediction: Iga Swiatek to Win 2-1 – 4/1
