The second Grand Slam tournament of the year is about to get underway at the Stade Roland Garros, as the best players in the world head to Paris for the 2026 French Open.

Several intriguing first-round matches await us, including the clash between Benjamin Bonzi and Alexander Zverev. What will unfold on day one at the Stade Roland Garros?

Today’s French Open Tips & Predictions

Benjamin Bonzi vs Alexander Zverev

Zverev heads to Paris as one of the tournament favourites. With Carlos Alcaraz missing out through injury, Zverev is the No. 2 seed behind Jannik Sinner.

Zverev reached the final of this tournament two years ago, losing out to Alcaraz in a thriller. The 29-year-old German is looking to secure his first-ever Grand Slam title, and the former world No. 2 could be one to watch at Roland Garros.

Bonzi has never progressed past the third round of any major tournament, but the Frenchman has claimed one career title. Back in 2024, Bonzi beat Cameron Norrie in the Moselle Open final.

The home crowd will be cheering on Zverev’s opponent, but the No. 2 seed should be too hot for Bonzi to handle in this first-round matchup. We fancy Zverev to win in straight sets, and PricedUp is offering tennis odds of 2/5 for the German to win 3-0.

Our Prediction: Alexander Zverev to Win 3-0 – 2/5

Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard vs Novak Djokovic

Record Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic begins his 2026 French Open with a first-round match against Lyon-born Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. Djokovic turned pro a year after Perricard was born.

All eyes will be on Djokovic, who is gunning for a 25th Grand Slam title. The current world No. 4 has not won a major since lifting the US Open trophy in 2023. However, he reached the Australian Open final at the start of 2026, becoming the oldest player to do so.

Perricard, who reached the fourth round at Wimbledon two years back, is a more than capable player on his day. The 22-year-old has picked up two career titles and will be out to upset one of the greatest players of all time.

Perricard could be a tough opponent for Djokovic, and the home favourite will back himself to at least grab a set. Still, Djokovic should see the job through with comfort, and we like the look of 23/10 for the sensational Serbian to win 3-1.

Our Prediction: Novak Djokovic to Win 3-1 – 23/10

Emma Raducanu vs Solana Sierra

Emma Raducanu is looking to keep up her improved form. The 23-year-old starts her French Open tournament with a first-round match against Solana Sierra.

Raducanu, who was born in Canada but represents Great Britain, has struggled to build on her memorable 2021 US Open success, but she reached her second professional final in 2026.

Raducanu was beaten in the 2026 Transylvania Open final by Sorana Cirstea, but it was a huge step in the right direction, especially as she had previously missed two months of action.

Sierra showed what she is capable of at Wimbledon last year, reaching the fourth round. However, the Argentine No. 1 is still searching for her first WTA career title.

Despite Raducanu’s improvement, Sierra is the favourite in this one, priced at 8/13 to come out on top and seal a place in the second round. Nevertheless, we are going against the bookies, and we fancy the Brit to get the job done.

The solid odds of 129/100 for the Raducanu win are just too good to turn down.

Our Prediction: Emma Raducanu to Win– 129/100
