Liverpool vs Chelsea

Liverpool and Chelsea have had disappointing campaigns, but there is still a lot at stake for both clubs this weekend. The pair go head-to-head at Anfield in today’s early Premier League kick off.

Arne Slot’s men were EPL champions last term, but the Merseyside club are 18 points behind current leaders Arsenal. However, if everything goes well this weekend, Liverpool can secure their spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Chelsea have had a forgettable season, collecting just 48 points from 35 games. The Blues are likely to miss out on Europe via the league route, though they could still qualify for the UEFA Europa League by winning the FA Cup.

Sunderland vs Manchester United

Sunderland and Man United meet in an intriguing matchup at the Stadium of Light. The Black Cats have had a fine first season back in the top tier, while the Red Devils have already claimed a Champions League spot.

Sunderland have been excellent on their Premier League return. However, Regis Le Bris’ boys have hit a rough patch of form of late, taking just one point from their last three. In their previous home fixture, Sunderland were hammered 5-0 by Nottingham Forest.

United’s victory over arch-rivals Liverpool last weekend ensured their place in next season’s elite European club competition. Michael Carrick has done an excellent job since taking over at Old Trafford, and the former England midfielder will fancy his chances of getting the gig full time.

Manchester City vs Brentford

Looking at the latest Premier League betting odds for the title, Man City are now the clear underdogs after Monday’s 3-3 draw at Everton. They still have a game in hand, but City are five points behind Arsenal.

Guardiola’s troops will keep on pushing until the final whistle, though, and the Manchester giants are looking to get back to winning ways when Brentford visit the Etihad Stadium this Saturday. Man City are the 4/11 favourites to pick up all three points.

In-form Brentford will be no pushovers, as Keith Andrews’ men still have eyes on a European spot. Before a ball has been kicked in anger this weekend, the Bees are buzzing along nicely in seventh position, amassing 51 points from 35 games.

Although Brentford could be a tough nut to crack, we cannot see past a Man City victory in our Premier League predictions today. The visitors could find the net, so take a punt on the home win and both teams to score at 7/5.
