Premier League Predictions for 29 August: Liverpool & Tottenham to Secure First Wins

After a thrilling first weekend in the top tier, matchday two in the Premier League is here, with the Tottenham Hotspur-Newcastle United game standing out.
Liverpool welcome Nottingham Forest to Anfield in Saturday’s early kick off, while Bournemouth and Everton lock horns at the Vitality Stadium. Read on for our weekend Premier League predictions.
Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest Premier League Predictions: Easy Home Win for Iraola’s Reds
Liverpool and Forest get Saturday up and running with a lunchtime meeting at Anfield. Both teams are looking for their first win of the new Premier League season.
Liverpool left it late to snatch a point at Newcastle last weekend. The Reds were behind twice in Andoni Iraola’s first game, but a last-gasp Dominik Szoboszlai penalty rescued a 1-1 draw at St James’ Park.
Nottingham Forest crashed to a disappointing 1-0 loss to Leeds United last Saturday. A few days later, the Reds lost to Leeds at the City Ground again in the Carabao Cup. It has been a bad start for new boss Oliver Glasner.
After battling back twice to earn a point in game one, we fancy Liverpool to cruise to all three points at Anfield this weekend. Check out PricedUp’s solid price of 23/20 for the hosts to win -1.
Our Prediction: Liverpool to Win -1 – 23/20, PricedUp
Bournemouth vs Everton Premier League Betting Tips: Honours Even at the Vitality
Everton make the trip to the south coast to face Bournemouth at the Vitality. The Toffees are looking to make it three league and cup wins on the trot.
Bournemouth played well at the Etihad Stadium but succumbed to a 2-1 defeat. Manchester City nicked the points at the end thanks to Josko Gvardiol’s effort. The Cherries took the lead in the first half and were ahead until the 84th minute.
Everton eased past Crystal Palace last weekend, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Thierno Barry on target. Barry then netted a League Cup hat-trick in a 4-0 win at Preston North End on Wednesday.
Everton are off to a flying start, but the Cherries are a tough nut to crack on their own patch. Furthermore, Marco Rose’s men were unlucky not to have left the Etihad with a point last weekend, and they will be eager to bounce back on home soil.
This is a tricky fixture to call, so we are tempted to back the draw. There is excellent value in PricedUp’s Premier League odds of 6/1 for the 1-1 draw.
Our Prediction: 1-1 Draw – 6/1, PricedUp
Tottenham Hotspur vs Newcastle United Premier League Tips: Spurs to Edge Close Contest in Capital
On Saturday evening, Tottenham and Newcastle go head-to-head in one of the standout fixtures of the Premier League weekend. Spurs are looking to respond after last Saturday’s humiliating defeat at Brentford.
Tottenham entered the season with huge expectations after making a hatful of top-quality signings, but Roberto De Zerbi’s side were heavily beaten by Brentford on the opening weekend. However, they did hit back with a midweek 5-1 cup win over Charlton Athletic.
Newcastle were seconds away from clinching a stunning 2-1 victory over Liverpool in Matthias Jaissle’s first game, but they conceded a late penalty to hand a point to the Reds.
Both teams will be desperate for all three points from this one, and Saturday’s showdown at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium should be a cracker.
It could go either way, but our money is going on a narrow Spurs victory. You can get 13/5 for the Tottenham win and both teams to score.
Our Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur to Win & Both Teams to Score – 13/5, PricedUp
