These two began the new Nations League cycle with defeats, so the initial feeling ahead of our Denmark vs. Wales predictions is that a draw does very little for either side, even at this early stage in the campaign.

Wales host Norway next week, while Portugal await the Danes on Thursday, so three points are crucial on Sunday night in Copenhagen, in the early battle to avoid relegation to League B.

Denmark vs. Wales Odds

There isn’t a huge gulf in class, but Denmark are certainly the stronger side on paper, while home advantage gives them an extra edge that is reflected in the betting.

You would perhaps be forgiven for thinking Wales look a big price, at greater than 5/1, but they have a poor away record against top-level sides. Denmark aren’t quite at the top table of international football, but on home soil they should still have too much here.

At 2/5, Denmark have an implied win probability of 71.4%. Calculate the implied probability of any bet using our calculator.

Denmark’s first outing since failing to qualify for the 2026 World Cup was an entertaining 3-2 defeat at the hands of local rivals Norway on Thursday.

But their home form is strong and includes a victory against Portugal in the Nations League play-offs 18 months ago.

Craig Bellamy’s side were on the cusp of World Cup qualification in March, but a late Bosnian equaliser and subsequent penalty shootout defeat has knocked them off course and they’ve failed to win any of their four games since then.

Denmark vs Wales Prediction: Denmark to Win and Both Teams to Score @ 21/10

Some predictions write themselves and that’s very much the case here.

Denmark have a great home record over the last few years, while away form has long been an achilles heel of Wales sides past and present.

But the Welsh posed a threat in Portugal on Thursday and had scored in all of their eight games prior to their 1-0 defeat last time out.

And while I think the hosts will be too strong, their recent form is a little patchy, with three wins in their last eight and only two clean sheets in that run.
