York Horse Racing Tips and Odds: Day 4 of 2026 Ebor Festival

The final day of the 2026 Ebor Festival is here, and it is the Ebor itself which takes centre stage. My York horse racing tips for Saturday focus on the Ebor Handicap, with winner predictions for each race below.
This fiercely competitive betting heat sees numerous individuals coming here with chances in the traditionally trippy handicap over 1m6f. Recent rain adds another dimension, where it looks as though some of the market protagonists could do with some drying weather.
Joseph O’Brien has teamed up with Ryan Moore in the form of Emit, and this combination is likely to prove popular. There are plenty of other runners who are hoping for big runs, and it will be fascinating to see how it plays out.

Ebor Handicap Betting Tips (3.35 at York on Saturday)
My horse betting tips for Saturday at York begin with the main event: The Ebor Handicap.
Tarriance on Top?
Tarriance won the Melrose at this venue last year, and there were signs that the 4-year-old was coming back to the boil when fourth at Goodwood last time out, and connections will be looking forward to a big performance here. The Andrew Balding team are on fire at the moment, and have a very good record in this race, so it's going to be far from a surprise if this talented individual gets involved at the business end of proceedings with a mark of 105 looking workable for this former Knavesmire winner.
Colin Keane takes the ride with a big run expected. They look at the each-way play in this wide-open-looking contest, where I think the big-field hustle and bustle will be no fear for this individual.
Can Emit Return to Form?
Emit has been a little frustrating lately, but has got to be respected for the Joseph O’Brien and Ryan Moore combination. The gelding was last seen at Royal Ascot in the Duke Of Edinburgh, staying on inside the hard yards in the closing stages of that 1m4f event. With that in mind, the return to this trip looks as though it will be beneficial, and he is fairly versatile with regard to ground conditions.
He looks as though he will be in the thick of things once again here, for all that he may be slightly vulnerable for win purposes, as you could argue that perhaps he is in the grip of the handicapper. Either way, it isn’t hard to envisage this team having a say in the finish in some shape or form. Naturally, he is shortlist material.
Love Me Tender is Back
Love Me Tender is the joker in the pack here, as this ex-German raider has joined the Willie Mullins team and must be worth a second look. The 4-year-old hasn’t been seen for 299 days since finishing fourth in a Listed race at Chantilly, but no doubt will have settled into Closutton nicely and will have been targeted at this for some time.
William Buick takes the ride, and a mark of 96 may massively underestimate him. This should be a belting race, and a strong case can be made for quite a few!

Best Bet for the Opening Race
Damysus (1.50 race) looks to have a very solid chance of landing the Strensall Stakes, where the combination trip and ground should be fine for him, and he can make his class tell dropping down into Group 3 company.
The Wathnan Racing representative has been rubbing shoulders at the top level, or just below it, throughout the summer. So naturally, this drop into calmer waters will be welcomed.
James Doyle takes the ride, and this pairing could prove a tough nut to crack in the opening race on Saturday.
