Ed Quigley has been in great form, and is back to serve up his best bets for Tuesday's action at Southwell and Salisbury...

Southwell 2.30 - Limerick Leader

Limerick Leader has some smart form in the book, and is one to take seriously for fledgling trainer Nick Scholfield. He has been a model of consistency in his most recent outings, and the yard know how to get them fit first time out, so I don't envisage the layoff being an issue here. The step back up to three miles looks a positive move - something he hasn't tried for a while. Blinkers go on for the first time, and it would be no surprise if he excelled in this assignment from a mark just 2lb higher than last successful. James Bowen takes the ride and Limerick Leader looks a protagonist in this encounter.

Southwell 3.30 - Nazare

Nazare has been a little off the pace in recent starts, but overall has some good form at Southwell, and has to be respected on just his second start over fences. He weakened out of proceedings at Ludlow last time out, and should be much better for that outing, combined with the drop back down in trip, and the return to this venue. Off a BHA rating of 109 he looks more than capable of getting in the shake-up here if getting a bit sharper over his fences. The James Owen team continue to tick along at a healthy strike-rate, operating at just over 20% in the last fortnight across both codes. Johnny Burke takes the ride, and Nazare shouldn't be far away.

Southwell 4.30 - Collanisi

This looks a good opportunity for the unexposed 6-year-old Collanisi to finally shed the maiden tag. The gelding showed much improved form when third on Handicap debut at Uttoxeter last time out, rallying in the closing stages. This race on paper looks slightly weaker, and it is worth pointing out that the collateral form of the Uttoxeter race is working out well, so there is some robustness to what Collanisi achieved in defeat. From just a pound fighter, connections must be confident of a bold show considering the Naunton Downs yard are in fine fettle at the moment, operating at around a 40% strike-rate for June. Pedigree suggests that a drop of rain shouldn't be too much of an issue, and this combination look as though they will be thoroughly involved at the business end of proceedings here.

Salisbury 4.53 - Morven

The Ralph Beckett yard often do well at Salisbury, and they have a solid chance of adding to their tally here with the unexposed Morven who tackles this Fillies' Handicap. The daughter of Gleneagles has shown some good form to date, winning at Haydock on her second start when staying on strongly all the way to the line. She looked in need of that run at Wolverhampton last time out, when runner up on Handicap debut, giving a strong impression that she would come on for the run fitness wise. She returns to turf here, where cut in the ground shouldn't be an issue. Rossa Ryan's mount steps up in trip to tackle 10f for the first time, and she looks to have a golden opportunity to kick-on and progress beyond a mark of 82. There aren't many miles on the clock, and she shapes as though 10f could be firmly on the radar now she has had a run after 210 days off the track. A bold show is expected.
