Horse racing outdoor derby with jockeys heading to finish line. Outdoor sport and competition. Backside view.

We have a cracking day of Group 1 action, and Ed Quigley is back with his best Horse Racing Tips on the cards. There are lots of exciting contests to look forward to, with the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown naturally looking the highlight as some of the top horses in Europe do battle on what should be an epic day.

Sandown - 1.50, Words Of Truth

Words Of Truth is a previous Course and Distance winner, courtesy of his Listed win last time out. The gelding looked very happy back at 5f, showing good gears and enjoying the stiff finish at the Esher venue. It has been a little bit of a stop-start campaign for the Charlie Appleby team, but they are in fine fettle at present. Words Of Truth is a progressive 3-year-old who should have a lot more to offer, and is still thoroughly unexposed as a 5f sprinter. Billy Loughnane is a jockey who has had a stellar time of things over the last few weeks, and looks to have every chance of adding to his tally here.

Sandown - 3.00, Pacific Mission

Pacific Mission is the clear pick on ratings, and is the one to beat here. If she can put her best foot forward then she looks more than capable of seeing off her rivals in this Listed encounter over 1m. Officially rated 107, she can stamp her authority here, as some of the form she has displayed in defeat is rock-solid. She filled the silver medal position at Doncaster in Group 2 company last season and then managed to come runner-up at the Breeders' Cup meeting at Group 1 level. Colin Keane takes the ride on the daughter of Lope De Vega and this combination should prove very tough to beat in this scenario for the Andrew Balding team who have been amongst the winners lately.

Sandown - 3.35,  Saddadd e/w

This is an absolute belter where a case can be made for quite a few in here. Given his apparent love affair with Sandown, I am going to give the nod to the Roger Varian trained Saddadd, who is two from two at the track, and so will naturally enjoy the return to this arena after running a very solid race in defeat when a running-on third in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at The Curragh last time out. On official figures he doesn't have much to find and he looks more than capable of making his presence felt here where perhaps a few of his rivals would be happier with a little bit more give underfoot.

Constitution River arrives on a five-timer and is bound to be very popular for the Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore combination. He will be warm order in the betting market, but I just have a slight reservation about his ability to show his best form on very quick ground and there isn't much leeway in his price for all that he arrives here in sparkling form.
