Sedgefield Prediction for 4.15 Race: Take Jet Of Dreams

I am looking for lightning to strike twice here, where I think the winner 2025, JET OF DREAMS, can get the job done here once again for the Warren Greatrex stable. The 8-year-old looked badly in need of the run when fourth at Uttoxeter recently on his seasonal reappearance. That was his first start after wind surgery, and he looked as though he wasn't quite on his game, but that outing should have him absolutely spot-on for today's assignment. From a handicapping point of view, he has dropped back to an official mark of 110, the same rating as when he landed this 12 months ago.

No doubt this race has been the target for some time, and he looks to be a serious player once again with the excellent James Bowen in the saddle. I like their chances here, returning to this happy hunting ground for the Lambourn raider. Ground conditions should be spot on, and he should be much more of a finished proposition for this assignment, where he can try and boss his rivals to enhance his excellent strike rate at the track.

Ed Quigley's Next Best Bet for Sedgefield: Tanking Along at 3.15

Stamina is the unknown, but I am going to take a chance here with the Patrick Neville-trained TANKING ALONG, who boasts good course form, and represents a yard that has been firing on all cylinders at present. The team has been operating at around a 36% strike rate over the last fortnight. The 7-year-old also has two wins at the track from just four visits.

The question mark will be whether he can bring his best form to the table over this 2m5f trip, as his wins have come at around the minimum distance. However, he has shaped as though the trip should be on the radar, and this slick jumper could pose plenty of questions for those in behind if able to get in a good rhythm at the head of affairs. It's also worth pointing out that he shaped as though he badly needed the run when last of five runners at Cartmel last month, where he looked ring-rusty to say the least. He should be a lot fitter for this assignment and looks more than capable of a bold show with Brian Hughes taking the ride on the gelding. I don't think that this combination should be left out of the equation here in this trappy little encounter, where he still looks open to progress off a mark of 106.
