Sceptre Fillies' Stakes Prediction - 7f, Group 3 (3.05 Race)

We have a massive field for this Group 3, where numerous connections are looking to get black type for their Fillies', and it is great to see such a mammoth field competing for this prize worth around £53,000 to the winner. When you strip it back, TOULEEN looks to have a cracking chance of getting back in the winner's enclosure. When comparing official figures, she has upwards of 6lb in hand of her rivals, and definitely has the class edge over the field here. The daughter of Lope De Vega has been runner-up at Group 1 level this term, when second in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. She has always shown a fair amount of speed, and so it looks a wise move to see her drop back to 7f, which is a trip she is very happy at, given that both her career wins have come over this distance. The cheek pieces go on for the first time, and if they have the desired effect, then she could just have too much raw class for the remainder of the field.

Of the others, Forty Years On is a most progressive type who has winning form over track and trip, enjoys the ground, and arrives on a hat trick. She won last time out off a mark of 96, and is now into much deeper waters as she steps into this Group 3 assignment. Hector Crouch takes the ride for the George Scott team and is a serious player here.

The Prettiest Star has some smart form in the book, and wasn't beaten far in the 1000 Guineas. If she improves for the drop back down in trip, then she is clearly a big threat to all in this field with in-form Jockey Callum Rodriguez taking the ride.

Ed Quigley's Next Best Bet for Doncaster on Sunday: Say What You See @ 3.40

We have 9 runners due to go to post for the 'Mallard', which is always a competitive Handicap run over the St Leger Course & Distance. There are many individuals in here with chances, and you can make a case for quite a few, but my eyes are drawn to the 4-year-old SAY WHAT YOU SEE, who steps up in a trip to this distance for the first time, and looks as though he can thrive over this trip.

It's worth noting that he has some very good form on Town Moor, and I can really see him getting involved once again here. Liam Bailey's charge was last seen when finishing third at York last month over 1m4f. He stayed on strongly inside the closing stages on that occasion, and so, from a visual perspective, he looks as though this trip could easily be on the radar for him. Doncaster's long home straight really suits him, and he can engage overdrive inside the hard yards here. He has plenty of stamina in the locker and shouldn't be dismissed here, and looks to be ticking a lot of boxes.
