Mexico City Grand Prix Prediction & Betting Tips Today
Hamilton’s pole - his first since Hungary 2023 - came after a challenging weekend in which Ferrari battled engine issues and limited long‑run data. The Briton described his final lap as “super‑good”, and Ferrari appear competitive on both tyre compounds. Hamilton’s altitude experience and strong race pace make him a major threat for victory.
Russell starts alongside him and has looked sharp all weekend, though his decision to skip a prep lap cost him a small amount of fuel‑weight time - enough to miss pole. Mercedes appear strong over long runs, and Russell is one of only two drivers who can mathematically stop Antonelli from sealing the title today.
Antonelli starts fourth after Verstappen’s penalty and remains in a commanding championship position. He needs only ninth place if Russell wins, or 10th if Hamilton triumphs. His qualifying pace was slightly off the top three, but his race‑run simulations looked competitive.
Verstappen, starting further back, showed strong pace before a lock‑up ruined his final lap. Red Bull improved significantly from practice, and the Dutchman remains a dangerous contender even from the second row.
Leclerc topped both Friday sessions and starts third. Ferrari’s long‑run pace looked excellent, and he may be Hamilton’s biggest threat if he gets a clean start.
With overtaking difficult at the 2,200m altitude and tyre overheating a major issue, track position will be crucial — making Hamilton’s pole extremely valuable.
Race Winner Prediction: Lewis Hamilton (2.60)
Hamilton’s qualifying form, Ferrari’s improved balance and the importance of track position make him the strongest pick for victory. His experience in managing tyres in hot, thin‑air conditions gives him an edge over Leclerc and Russell.
Prediction: Hamilton to win (2.60, Betnero)
