F1 Monaco GP - Race Tips & Predictions As Antonelli Takes Stunning Pole
After a dramatic qualifying session, here are our F1 Monaco GP tips and predictions ahead of the most iconic round of the Formula One calendar.
Qualifying around the narrow, winding streets of the Monte Carlo street circuit is as intense as it is crucial.
With modern F1 cars being too big and too quick to allow any room for overtaking, grid position is never more important than here in Monaco.
Championship leader Kimi Antonelli will therefore be delighted to have snatched pole position by just four hundredths of a second in Q3.
The Italian will be joined on the front row by a resurgent Max Verstappen. Red Bull have been hit hard by this year's new engine regulations, but the Dutchman's talent remains unquestionable.
It's a Ferrari lockout on the second row, with Lewis Hamilton and home hero Charles Leclerc.
The Monegasque Leclerc will be disappointed not to have taken pole around his favourite circuit.
However, Ferrari's super race starts, and the difficulty of overtaking in Monaco later in the race means there is still a chance for the pair.
Isack Hadjar starts fifth in the other Red Bull, ahead of Mercedes' George Russell. McLaren duo Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris start seventh and eighth.
Pierre Gasly's Alpine and Liam Lawson's RB finish out the top 10 ahead of both Williams cars.
Monaco GP Prediction
Looking ahead to Sunday, it's impossible to ignore Antonelli. The Italian has dominated this season so far, and has a great chance of winning from pole.
If he can hold the lead into the first corner, it feels extremely likely he will sail off into the distance.
However, Max Verstappen will not give up the chance of a race win. The four-time champ may throw caution to the wind on lap one.
Meanwhile, the Ferrari pair are close enough on the grid that their excellent speed at race starts could see them grab the lead.
Plus, Monaco's propensity for safety cars, red flags and general chaos means it's impossible to assume a winner from the starting grid alone.

Monaco GP Tips
Race winner - Charles Leclerc - 13.50
Antonelli is the favourite with most UK betting sites, at around 1.50.
However, the teenager has frequently struggled at race starts.
If he gets bogged down off the line again, the Ferraris could easily sneak through.
And once ahead, Leclerc's supreme knowledge of his home circuit might give him the edge.
Plus, with odds of 13.50, this is a great value pick that could earn some serious profit.
Race Winning Margin - Over 10 Seconds - 3.95
Next up, we are backing the race winner to lead by over 10 seconds.
With clean air, and barring a late safety car or red flag, we believe whoever gets out in front after the opening laps will be able to waltz off down the road and win comfortably.
The difficulty will be in taking the early lead, not in maintaining it once ahead.
A Red Flag To Be Shown - YES - 2.75
Finally, we expect there to be at least one red flag thrown during the race.
Monaco, like all street circuits, is extremely likely to see a red flag due to the lack of run-off areas.
Any incidents almost always block the track, with even a full safety car often insufficient.
With the safety of marshalls and drivers of paramount importance, the FIA have leaned towards more red flags than ever in recent years.
It's therefore a solid bet at 2.75 to see one shown during Sunday's race.
Plus, the timing of any red flags could prove pivotal in shaking up the race order and providing excitement, at a track where overtaking opportunities will be at their most limited this season.
