After an exhilarating Sprint Qualifying session at Silverstone, here are our Formula 1 British Grand Prix Sprint tips and predictions ahead of Saturday's midday showdown.

Lewis Hamilton thrilled the home crowd by securing Sprint pole for Ferrari, edging Kimi Antonelli by just 0.011 seconds after producing a superb final lap around Silverstone.

It marks another significant step forward for Hamilton and Ferrari following their recent resurgence, with the seven-time world champion looking increasingly comfortable in the Scuderia machinery at one of his strongest circuits.

Antonelli continued his outstanding season by locking out the front row for Mercedes, while Max Verstappen qualified third after another competitive showing for Red Bull.

Charles Leclerc will line up fourth in the second Ferrari, with George Russell starting fifth after narrowly missing out on the front two rows despite another encouraging qualifying performance on home soil.

McLaren endured a slightly frustrating session, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri only managing sixth and seventh respectively despite arriving at Silverstone with high expectations.

With the Sprint lasting just 100km, tyre management will be less of a factor than in Sunday's Grand Prix, placing an even greater emphasis on track position and a clean getaway when the lights go out.

As the name suggests, this will be an all-out sprint to the finish line, with the car's pure pace more important than the ability to manage over a longer stint.

With no signs of rain on the horizon - rare for a British summer event - we should expect dry weather running across the weekend.

British Grand Prix Sprint Prediction

Hamilton has given himself the ideal opportunity to claim Sprint victory, and continue Ferrari's remarkable return to the front of the grid.

Silverstone has been the scene of so many memorable moments throughout his career, and the Ferrari driver looked genuinely quick throughout Sprint Qualifying, delivering when it mattered most to deny Antonelli by the smallest of margins.

Mercedes should still pose the biggest threat, with Antonelli and Russell both showing impressive pace, while Verstappen can never be discounted from third on the grid.

However, over the shorter Sprint distance, Hamilton's pole position could prove decisive if he holds the lead through the opening corners.

Predicted top three: Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, Kimi Antonelli

British Grand Prix Sprint Tips

All odds taken from Betnero at 09:00 BST on Saturday, 4 July 2026.

Lewis Hamilton To Win The Sprint – 1.67

Our first selection is Hamilton to convert pole position into Sprint victory.

Few drivers know Silverstone better than the Ferrari star, and he looked completely at ease throughout Sprint Qualifying.

With overtaking expected to be difficult over the shortened race distance, starting from pole gives Hamilton a major advantage. If he leads into Turn 1, he will take some stopping.

George Russell Top Two Finish – 7.00

Next, we are backing George Russell to fight his way into the top two.

Although he starts fifth, the Mercedes has looked competitive all weekend and Russell has consistently shown strong race pace throughout the 2026 season.

A fast start could immediately put him into contention, while the short Sprint format often rewards aggressive opening laps. At 7.00, this looks an attractive offering with most UK Betting Sites.

Pierre Gasly Top Six Finish – 13.50

Our final selection is Pierre Gasly to secure a top-six finish.

The Alpine driver narrowly missed out on SQ3 after qualifying 11th, but his pace throughout the weekend has been encouraging.

Silverstone offers overtaking opportunities into Brooklands and Stowe, and if Gasly can gain ground early, a place inside the top six is far from impossible.

At generous odds of 13.50, this represents one of the standout value bets for Saturday's Sprint.
