MIDDLESBROUGH, ENGLAND - OCTOBER 21, 2019: Middlesbrough FC logo at Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough, England

Two of the Championship’s form sides meet in Staffordshire this evening as Middlesbrough and Stoke go head-to-head at the bet365 Stadium.

It’s been a happy hunting ground for Boro in recent years but my Stoke City vs Middlesbrough prediction is that this will be a genuinely tough assignment this time around.

Stoke City vs Middlesbrough Odds

Despite just two places and two points separating them in the Championship table, the visitors go into this one as comfortable favourites with 10Bet.

1X2: Stoke City 12/5, Draw 13/5, Middlesbrough EVS

Both Teams to Score: Yes 4/7, No 13/10

Over/Under 2.5 Goals: Overs 4/6, Unders 23/20

With home advantage you perhaps would’ve expected Stoke to be slightly shorter, but they’ve spent several years languishing in midtable, while Boro are consistent challengers at the top end of the division.

Are the Potters ready for a promotion push or is this yet another false dawn?

James’ Stoke City vs Middlesbrough predictions can be backed with 10Bet and odds are correct as of 8am on Tuesday 13th October.

Mark Robins’ side started the season poorly, but a run of four wins in their last five games has catapulted them up to fourth in the table.

This is an expensively assembled Stoke squad so it’s no surprise to finally see them in the top six, but they’ve had a favourable run of games and the visit of the Teesiders will be a test of where they really are in the pecking order.

They were universally tipped for promotion after play-off heartbreak against Hull last season, and following reinforcements over the summer it’s hard to find any weaknesses in this Boro side.

Stoke City vs Middlesbrough Prediction - Draw @ 13/5

Yet again, the Championship is looking set to be a remarkably tight division and this matchup sums it up.

We’ve been waiting for a Stoke side capable of challenging for promotion for some time and this current crop looks the closest we’ve seen to one. Boro, meanwhile, are a well oiled machine that have enjoyed success here in each of the past two campaigns and have a squad packed with quality.

With both sides in a good groove and the underdogs having home advantage, I’m just leaning on the side of a draw. No team has prevented Stoke from scoring yet this season and with the visitors not looking overly watertight at the back, I think they’ll find it difficult to outscore the hosts here.
