Coventry, West Midlands, UK - 30th April 2024: The CBS Arena is home to Coventry City Football Club in the West Midlands, UK

Here are our best Coventry vs Wrexham betting tips and predictions ahead of a huge EFL Championship clash on Sunday.

Freshly-promoted Coventry City host play-off chasing Wrexham at the Coventry Building Society Arena this weekend.

Frank Lampard's Sky Blues have been simply sensational all season, and secured both promotion and the Championship title with two games to spare thanks to Tuesday's 5-1 win against Portsmouth. They head into this one unbeaten in six since last month's 2-1 defeat by Southampton.

Wrexham, meanwhile, have clawed their way back into the play-off places with back-to-back wins over Stoke City and Oxford United. Phil Parkinson's side have defied all expectations in their first season back in the second tier in more than 40 years.

The Hollywood story continues for the club owned by A-list stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, with Wrexham chasing a fourth promotion in as many years. They will be up against it on Saturday, though, with Premier League-bound Coventry hoping to finish the season in style.

Coventry Vs Wrexham Prediction

Ahead of the action, most betting sites in the UK have Coventry priced at around 11/10.

Lampard's side are certainly favourites on paper, but it's the Red Dragons that actually have the better of this matchup in recent times.

Coventry and Wrexham have only met four times in their history, with two wins each. However, Wrexham ran out 3-2 winners at the STōK Cae Ras earlier this season, and also beat the Sky Blues 4-3 away from home in the FA Cup back in 2023.

With Coventry already confirmed as champions, they could be forgiven for taking their foot off the gas somewhat. Wrexham, however, are chasing a play-off berth and must continue their recent form if they are to secure a top-six finish.

While we think a victory may be too tough an ask for the away side, an entertaining draw may well be possible, especially if some or all of Coventry's squad are already 'on the beach'.

Prediction: Coventry 2-2 Wrexham

Coventry Vs Wrexham Betting Tips

Take a look below at three of our two Coventry Vs Wrexham betting tips ahead of Sunday's lunchtime kickoff in the EFL Championship.

Draw & Both Teams To Score - 7/2

Our first betting tip is for this one to be a draw and for both teams to score. Neither side has kept a clean sheet against the other in any of their previous meetings, and both Coventry and Wrexham are among the league's top scorers.

The visitors will know that a draw is probably not good enough to keep them in the top six. As a result, Wrexham will likely throw bodies forward to push for the win.

This will boost the odds of Parkinson's side scoring, but also open up opportunities for Coventry to create chances at the other end.

Haji Wright First Goalscorer - 9/2

Next, we are predicting Coventry attacker Haji Wright to be the first name on the scoresheet on Sunday.

The American international has 17 league goals for the Sky Blues this season, second to only Swansea's Zan Vipotnik.

Wright is Coventry's top scorer and one of the most deadly finishers in the Championship, facing a Wrexham defence that has been leaky in recent weeks and shipped five at home to Southampton.

Second Half Result - Wrexham - 9/4

Our third and final pick for this weekend's headline Championship fixture is for Wrexham to win the second half.

As mentioned, Coventry's season is essentially over, with the title and promotion secure. Wrexham, on the other hand, will be pushing all the way to make sure they take maximum points.

We therefore expect the visitors to win the second half, with the need for a late goal pushing them to exert maximum pressure after the break.
