EFL Championship Tips for 29 August: Wins for Wolves & West Ham

The EFL Championship weekend is packed with exciting fixtures, including this afternoon’s Southampton vs Millwall matchup.
West Ham United are looking for their first Championship win when they travel to Watford, while Wolverhampton Wanderers host Stoke City. Check out this in-depth betting preview for the latest odds and our EFL Championship tips.
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Stoke City EFL Championship Tips: Hosts to Cruise to All Three Points
Wolves welcome Stoke to Molineux in one of the early kick offs in today’s Championship. A home win will take Wanderers to seven points from three games.
After starting life back in the Championship with a 2-2 home draw with Blackburn Rovers, Wolves picked up their first win last weekend, with Fer Lopez bagging a brace in a 3-1 victory at Preston North End.
Stoke have had a tough start, suffering back-to-back Championship defeats to Swansea City and Southampton. They also lost to Hull City on penalties in the EFL Cup in midweek.
The Potters are desperate to get off the mark, but this will be another tough test for Mark Robins’ men. Unfortunately, we can see Stoke crashing to a third Championship reverse.
Our money is going on a routine victory for the hosts. Check out 10Bet’s odds of 5/4 for Wolves to be winning at half time and full time.
Our Prediction: Wolverhampton Wanderers HT/FT – 5/4, 10Bet
Southampton vs Millwall Championship Predictions: Saints & Lions to Play Out Score Draw
Southampton and Millwall meet at St Mary’s Stadium in one of the standout fixtures of the Championship weekend. The Lions are looking to maintain their 100% start.
Southampton bounced back from the disappointing opening-weekend loss at Watford with a comfortable 3-1 home victory over Stoke. However, the Saints were hammered 4-1 at home by West Ham in the cup in midweek.
While Tonda Eckert’s Southampton have had a mixed start, Alex Neil’s Millwall have started the new season like a house on fire. The Lions have picked up consecutive league and cup wins against Queens Park Rangers, Bristol City, Norwich City, and Cambridge United.
Millwall are the early leaders of the Championship, collecting six points, scoring five goals, and conceding none. A trip to St Mary’s is always tricky, but we fancy the Londoners to leave with a point.
There is good value in 10Bet’s price of 7/2 for the draw and both teams to score.
Our Prediction: Draw & Both Teams to Score – 7/2, 10Bet
Watford vs West Ham United Championship Betting Tips: Hammers to Secure First League Victory
Nuno Espirito Santo’s West Ham are looking for their first win of the Championship season when they make the trip to Vicarage Road to play Watford. The Hammers are on one point from a possible six after a draw and a defeat.
The Hornets have been tipped to struggle this season, but they have made a solid start. After an impressive 2-1 home victory over Southampton, Watford drew at Wrexham last weekend. However, they did fall to a humbling 5-1 loss at home to Peterborough United in the cup in midweek.
West Ham let a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 at Burnley on matchday one. The Irons then suffered a shock 2-1 home loss to Charlton Athletic last weekend. Still, the 4-1 cup win at St Mary’s has lifted the mood at the London Stadium.
Watford have made a strong start to their Championship season, but we are backing West Ham to leave Vicarage Road with all three points. The away victory is available at 7/10.
Our Prediction: West Ham United to Win – 7/10, 10Bet
