Easy Win for Liverpool

Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool have secured two Champions League wins so far. Can they move on to nine points when Spanish side Villarreal travel to Anfield tonight?

The Reds have had a mixed bag of results in the Premier League, but they have seen off Atletico Madrid and LASK Linz in Europe.

Having lost 3-0 to Man City in the league, Liverpool bounced back with a much-needed EPL victory last time out. Victor Munoz and Alexander Isak were on target in a 2-1 win at Brentford.

Villarreal made a bad start to the season, drawing two and losing four of their opening six league and cup matches. However, the Yellow Submarine have improved, winning three of five. In their last European match, Villarreal beat Napoli 3-1 at home.

PSG vs Barcelona would make a fitting Champions League final, but the heavyweights clash in the league phase at the Parc des Princes tonight. These two are among the favourites to lift the trophy this season.

As expected, both teams have 100% records in the Champions League. Paris have seen off Slovan Bratislava and Man City, scoring ten times. Barca beat Feyenoord 5-1 before a 4-1 win at Galatasaray last week.

Paris edged the most recent meeting between the pair just over a year ago, with Senny Mayulu and Goncalo Ramos on target in a 2-1 away win at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys. PSG’s recent record in this fixture is good, losing just one of five.

With so much talent on show in both camps, tonight’s spectacle at the Parc des Princes could go either way. The Parisians have won six in a row after a slow start, while Blaugrana have won every league and cup game this season.

This could be close on the scoreline, but home advantage might give PSG the slight edge. The home win and both teams to score is available at 2/1.
