Champions League Predictions Today 08/09: Six Massive Games
Here are our UEFA Champions League predictions today as European football returns to our screens for another exciting campaign.
With the domestic season back underway, the first round of European competition is upon us, and what a set of fixtures we have in store.
UEFA Champions League Preview
The first of our early kick-offs sees Greek side AEK Athens host LASK of Austria in one of two matches kicking off at 17:45 UK time on Tuesday night.
A Clean Slate For Aston Villa
Next up, Aston Villa will hope to improve their Premier League form as they travel to Club Brugge this evening.
Unai Emery's side are winless from their opening three league fixtures, but a fresh competition and a clean slate could be an excellent opportunity for them to pick up a vital win and kick start their season in earnest.
Moving to the 20:00 kickoffs, Borussia Dortmund entertain Villareal in what promises to be a fantastic battle.
The German hosts are comfortable favourites with most UK betting sites.
However, their Spanish visitors will be keen to take something after a poor start in La Liga sees them winless from their opening four.
French outfit Lille are unbeaten in their opening three Ligue 1 games, and will be full of confidence as they host Real Betis of Spain.
Something Has To Give In Porto
Meanwhile, Enzo Maresca's Manchester City make the trip to Porto in one of the standout fixtures of the round.
City have made a perfect start to their league campaign, with three wins from three.
But their opponents have won all five of their games so far in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, and will hope to upset the Champions League odds.
A 'Special One' For Jose Mourinho
And finally, the most mouth-watering matchup of the evening will put European super clubs Real Madrid and Inter Milan head-to-head at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Both clubs have won numerous European titles and frequently dominated their domestic leagues.
There is also another enthralling sub-plot to this one.
The Special One, Jose Mourinho, will take charge of his first Champions League match since his return to Madrid.
And what better opponent than Inter - the team he led to European glory 16 years ago, defeating Bayern Munich in the final at the Bernabéu.

UEFA Champions League Tips
Real Madrid to win and BTTS - 2.57, Betnero
Our first pick is for Real Madrid to take three points, but Inter Milan to get on the scoresheet.
It will be a mammoth clash between two Champions League giants, but we expect home advantage to play a big part in helping Madrid claim a narrow win.
Manchester City to win and over 3.5 goals - 3.66, Betnero
While neither side has dropped a point so far this season, we think Manchester City will just have too much for Porto on Tuesday night.
With both sides liking to play front-foot, attacking football, we can see plenty of goals in the one, making a Man City win with over 3.5 goals an enticing combination.
Lille Vs Betis - Both teams to score in both halves - 7.50, Betnero
And finally, we think backing both teams to score in both halves could be a clever pick for LOSC Lille Vs Real Betis.
Our prediction is for a 2-2 draw, which would make for an entertaining encounter if it plays out in that fashion.
And with odds of 7.50, this one represents a good value play.
