We’ve arrived at the midway point of the group phase of this season’s Champions League and while we have some big hitters at the top end of the table, there are several household names with work to do.

Let’s take a look at Wednesday night’s Champions League odds and pick out my best bets for the evening, which we’ll be backing with PricedUp.

Champions League Odds in Today’s Early Kick-Offs

As usual, we have two matches getting underway at 5:45pm, but before we take a look at Liverpool’s trip to Fenerbahce, our attention is on AEK Athens vs Real Madrid.

Real head into this one in great form. Since losing at Real Betis at the start of September they’ve won nine of ten matches, including their last six in a row across La Liga and the Champions League.

Contrast that with an AEK Athens side that have been beaten comfortably by Shakhtar and Man City in their most recent European outings, while at home, they’ve lost back-to-back matches in league and cup.

But the Greeks have failed to score only once since mid-August, while Los Blancos have been far from reliable at the back despite some impressive victories. In this ten game unbeaten run, Real have kept just two clean sheets.

With that in mind, the Real Madrid Win and Both Teams to Score double has a great chance at 6/5.

James’ Champions League predictions can be backed at PricedUp and odds are correct as of 10am GMT on Wednesday 4 November.

Liverpool Return to Istanbul

Like Madrid, Liverpool head into this round of fixtures with a perfect record of three wins from three.

Tonight they’re in Istanbul for a first-ever meeting with Fenerbahce, who are still looking for their maiden win in this season’s competition.

The city will always have a place in Liverpool hearts after their remarkable Champions League final win over AC Milan in 2005, but they’ve lost on each of their four visits to Istanbul since then, albeit to Fenerbahce’s local rivals Besiktas and Galatasaray.

That said, the Merseysiders haven’t lost away from home yet this season. Fenerbahce, meanwhile, are well off the pace in the Turkish Super Lig and come into this one on the back of a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Aston Villa last time out.

This looks like a great opportunity for Andoni Iraola’s men to respond to their home defeat to Arsenal and I like the Away Win to Nil at 11/5.

English European Dominance

Man City find themselves outside the top eight in the table, which could force them into an extra play-off round in the New Year.

A win at Leipzig would certainly help on that front and the German club is one they’ve had no problem taking care of in recent years.

They faced each other three times in a calendar year in 2023, with City winning all three matches with an aggregate score of 13-3.

Leipzig are fourth in the Bundesliga but were hammered 6-1 by Bayern Munich a little over a fortnight ago, while also taking beatings from Real Madrid and Como in European competition.

They’re clearly a rung below the elite sides, and with City having so much going forward I can see them potentially scoring a hatful. City -1.75 in the Asian Handicap market looks value at 13/8.

Who Can Stop the Gunners?

And finally, I expect Arsenal to complete a perfect night for English sides when they travel to the Czech capital to face Slavia Prague.

The hosts are unbeaten in the Czech top flight but have already been beaten by Lens and Azerbaijani minnows Sabah in the Champions League.

And the Gunners just look so strong at the minute, with confidence sky-high after winning at Anfield on Sunday.

This has the look of a regulation away win so we’re going for Arsenal Half-Time/Full-Time at 8/11, but for a bit more value, I like the visitors to score in both halves too, at 5/6.
