Man City Readying Third Anderson Bid
After two rejected bids, Manchester City are reportedly ready to make a third attempt to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.
The Reds are staying firm on their price, but Man City are willing to break the transfer record for an English player with an offer they cannot refuse.
Anderson to Become the Most Expensive English Player
City made a bid worth around £120m last week, but Nottingham Forest rejected their approach. The initial offer was £106 including add-ons, but Forest are not willing to let their star player go without a fight.
If a deal can be struck between the two Premier League clubs, Anderson will become the most expensive English player of all time. Declan Rice currently holds the tag after his £105m move from West Ham United to Arsenal in 2023.
Man City usually get what they want, and they will be desperate to get a deal for Anderson done, even before they officially announce the next manager. The fee is huge, but Anderson could be exactly what City need right now.
Midfielder Ready to Play Key Role for Three Lions
Anderson will be putting his club future to bed for now as he focuses on the 2026 FIFA World Cup with England. The Three Lions get their tournament up and running with a Group L meeting with Croatia today.
Thomas Tuchel is a big admirer of Anderson, handing the Forest man the No. 8 shirt for the World Cup. He is likely to be a starter in the heart of the English midfield.
The former Newcastle United man has made eight appearances for the senior national team, all coming under Tuchel. He made his debut in August 2025 and has never looked back.
Anderson and England are looking to go far this summer. Tuchel’s troops are one of the tournament favourites, and they should ease into the knockout phase in North America.
Will Anderson be a Man City player when England return home?
