Man City Ramping Up Interest in Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez

Manchester City are reportedly ready to make an official approach for Enzo Fernandez despite missing Chelsea’s transfer deadline.
The potential move looked to be dead in the water after Man City missed the cut-off, but fresh reports suggest Enzo Maresca is ready to offer the Argentina international a lucrative deal at the Etihad Stadium.
Enzo Wants City Move
Fernandez has expressed his desire to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, and the No. 8 is pushing for a move to the Etihad before the transfer window shuts.
Despite slapping an astronomical £120m price tag on their star midfielder, Man City are ready to splash the cash.
The Manchester giants already broke the bank with the £116m transfer of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, but the big-money deal for Fernandez would be the biggest Premier League signing of the summer.
Chelsea are preparing for an official bid for Fernandez, and the deal will be too good to turn down if City match their valuation.
Blues & Citizens Start with Wins
Fernandez came off the bench to a chorus of boos in Chelsea’s 3-2 victory at West London rivals Fulham on the opening weekend.
Despite looking vulnerable at the back, the Blues were brilliant in attack, with terrific trio Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers, and Cole Palmer on target at Craven Cottage.
Fernandez came on in the 65th minute to help see the game out. The cameo at the Cottage could have been his final appearance in a Chelsea shirt.
Man City came from behind to beat Bournemouth at the Etihad. Marcus Tavernier put the Cherries in front in the first half, but late goals from Marc Guehi and Josko Gvardiol won the points in Maresca’s first league.
Despite spending big money on Anderson, Man City could do with more experience in the middle of the park, and Fernandez would certainly fill the void. Will the Argentinian be a City player when they play Coventry City in their next home match?
