West Ham United go into the final weekend of the 2025-26 Premier League season as overwhelming 1/10 favourites to be relegated to the EFL Championship, ending a 14-year stay in England’s top tier.

However, after Tottenham Hotspur failed to beat Chelsea in midweek, the fight for top-flight survival has gone to the final day. Which one of these London powerhouses will be a Championship team next season?

Will West Ham Do Their Bit?

The equation is simple for the Hammers; they must beat Leeds United and hope that old boss David Moyes and his Everton team can do them a favour at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Due to Spurs’ far superior goal difference, only a win will do.

West Ham have hit a rough patch of form, suffering three successive defeats. However, before Arsenal’s controversial win at the London Stadium, Nuno Espirito Santo’s troops had secured back-to-back home wins over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton.

West Ham have made themselves tough to beat on home soil in 2026, and the players will be relying on their passionate home support in this one.

Although survival is out of their hands, an early goal at the London Stadium will pile the pressure on Roberto De Zerbi and his players.

Can Toffees Upset Spurs?

The relegation battle would have been done and dusted if Tottenham had found an equaliser at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday. Instead, Chelsea held on for a nervy 2-1 win.

Tottenham have certainly turned a corner since De Zerbi’s arrival, with the Italian picking up eight points from a possible 18. He has revitalised the struggling side and made them ultra-competitive again.

Tottenham welcome Moyes’ Everton to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, knowing that a point will be enough to guarantee safety.

Still, if the unthinkable happens and they lose and West Ham win, the North London club will be relegated from the Premier League for the first time. The stakes could not be any higher.
