Igor Thiago On Scoresheet as Brentford Stun Rivals Chelsea

Brentford picked up an excellent Premier League victory over Chelsea on Friday night, with Igor Thiago bagging his first league goal of the season.
Before Saturday’s action, the Bees are flying high in third place in the Premier League table, collecting nine points.
Thiago Ends Goalless Streak
Thiago had an outstanding scoring season for the Bees last term, netting 22 EPL goals. Only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland scored more (27) as the Brazilian took the silver medal.
Thiago’s stunning performances for the Bees earned him a Brazil call-up last March, making his national debut in a 2-1 defeat to France. The striker was later included in Brazil’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad, starting in the opening game against Morocco.
Before Friday, Thiago’s last Premier League goal came in a 3-0 home victory over West Ham United on May 2nd. However, he did net in Brentford’s 6-1 Carabao Cup victory at Birmingham City in August.
Thiago finally got off the mark in the Premier League on Friday, scoring Brentford’s second in a convincing 3-0 victory over rivals Chelsea at the Brentford Community Stadium. The victory lifted them to third, while the Blues sit seventh.
Andrews’ Boys Unbeaten
Brentford narrowly missed out on Europe last term, but the Londoners have made a stunning start to this campaign.
Keith Andrews’ troops are unbeaten in five Premier League games, winning two and drawing three. The Bees have also claimed EFL Cup wins against Birmingham and Reading to reach the last 16.
Brentford head into the first international break in high spirits after four wins and three draws from seven in all competitions. They will want to keep the momentum ticking after the three-week pause.
Next up for the London side is a trip to Villa Park to play Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, who have made another slow start to their season. Can Brentford pick up a statement victory on the road?
