West Ham United are this morning as short as 1/7 to be relegated from the Premier League, following their controversial 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.

The Gunners dominated from the off and should have found themselves at least two goals up at the interval, but home defensive heroics kept the league leaders at bay.

That was until the 83rd minute.

Substitute Martin Odegaard did well to open up space in a crowded West Ham box before teeing up Leandro Trossard to rifle home from 12 yards and put Arsenal on their way to a crucial away victory.

But the action wasn’t done there, with VAR making arguably its biggest decision in its short history in added time.

A Jarrod Bowen corner caused chaos, culminating in Calum Wilson smashing into the back of the net with a goal that had major ramifications at both ends of the table.

But after a long touchline review, referee Chris Kavanagh ruled that Arsenal stopper David Raya was impeded by Hammers sub Pablo.

The goal was subsequently chalked off, leaving West Ham hanging over a relegation cliffedge.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side find themselves a point adrift of safety in 18th place, but crucially, they’ve played a game more than Spurs, who host Leeds in north London tonight.

PricedUp have West Ham at 1/7 to drop into the second tier for the first time since 2012. That price is likely to plummet even further, should Spurs pick up a third straight victory. After yesterday’s result, Tottenham have drifted to 9/2 for the drop.

At the top end of the table, meanwhile, Arsenal are now heavy 1/7 favourites to land the Premier League crown following yesterday’s victory, with Man City a best-price 11/2.
