Everton Climb to Fifth and Eustace Clinches Vital Derby Win

Everton picked up their second win in the space of five days by coming from behind to beat Coventry 3-1 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Toffees Euro Chase Gathers Pace
Yann Gboho put the visitors ahead early in the second half when he found space in a crowded area and neatly threaded the ball past Jordan Pickford.
But Sky Blue joy was short lived, as the Premier League’s in-form marksman Thierno Barry responded just four minutes later.
The Frenchman rose highest to head home a Vitaliy Mykolenko cross, before going on to put the visitors ahead just after the hour with a carbon copy of his first.
Tyrique George was the provider this time, causing havoc out wide and sending in a looping cross for Barry to bundle home his tenth goal of the season and fourth in just three games.
Barry turned provider nine minutes from time as he released Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall with a great through ball for the midfielder to smash home from a tight angle to seal all three points.
Eustace Survives for Now
In the Championship, Derby came from a goal down to seal a crucial 3-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers.
The hosts arrived at Pride Park in wretched form and were deservedly behind at the break thanks to Ruben Rodrigues’ tidy finish from Gaizka Larrazabal’s cutback after 42 minutes.
But two goals in the opening five minutes of the second half turned the game on its head. First, full-back Ryan Nyambe scored his first career goal in his 309th appearance after tapping in at the far post, before Jack Robinson headed home to give the Rams a precious lead.
Bolton probed for an equaliser but were made to pay for missed opportunities in injury time, when Rhian Brewster pounced on a defensive error to slam home an emphatic finish that leaves Derby four points adrift of safety heading into Saturday’s action.
