Coventry Make It Back to Back Wins

Coventry City climbed to 14th in the Premier League table thanks to a 4-1 victory over Newcastle at the CBS Arena last night.
The result leaves Newcastle in midtable after an indifferent start to the campaign that has seen them win two, draw two and lose two of their opening six matches.
Hornicek Howler Kickstarts Cov
Within the opening five minutes, the hosts were gifted an opportunity to open the scoring from the spot.
Newcastle goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek fumbled a loose ball in the penalty area and subsequently brought down Sidiki Cherif, allowing Jack Rudoni to score his first Premier League goal.
The visitors came close to levelling just before half-time when Matias Fernandez-Pardo was put through on goal by Nico Gonzalez. The Belgian took the ball around Carl Rushworth in the home goal but his shot was blocked on the line by Bobby Thomas.
A New Cherif in Town
Coventry went into the break a goal up but were in dreamland just three minutes into the second half.
A long throw into the box found Cherif, and the Guinean did superbly to create space and fire a fierce drive through a crowded area and into the bottom corner to put his side 2-0 up.
Newcastle grew frustrated as they probed for a way back into the game, but they were given hope with 20 minutes to play thanks to a screamer from centre back Sven Botman.
But ten minutes later the deficit was back to two, as poor defending from Lewis Hall and Joelinton gifted the ball to Ellis Simms, who found the net with a low effort.
And the points were made safe in emphatic style in the 86th minute as substitute Stephen Mfuni crashed home another superb strike from the edge of the box.
